forgive me for being a political snob, but something about this just didn’t sit well with me. I personally think that the pope is an absolutely despicable person, and he gives me the creeps big time…but i am a huge fan of Miss Kelly, so mixing these two together is just…..weird? I love you Kelly, but im not sure singing for this creepster was such a good career move, seeing as how a huge percentage of your fans are gay and lesbian…who he openly condemned to hell in his first year of popehood
Kelly is a professional singer who was asked to sing at very high-profile event. If she turned it down, the headline would have been “Kelly snubs the Pope.” How would THAT have been a good career move?
Her voice started shaky, but then got stronger… Great work! :)
Im so glad she insisted on singing this song, she sung it beautifully and the organises of this event are legends for choosing her to do this event
I loved this performance… I know what Jake wanted to say but I have to reply that I’m gay but I don’t believe Kelly had not to performe just because of some Pope’s point of view… sometimes you have to choose and I thinkshe did it well… She sang a beautiful song in front of a lot of people… the song itself didn’t go against any of her fans… Loved the way she did it… And I’m gonna listed to this wonderful version for a looong long time… Kelly, you’re just an angel sent from heaven :)

OK. Come on comments. Are you serious? That was horrible. She really can’t sing classical music at all, and there are thousands if not millions of people who could have done a better job for the Pope. But it just goes to show you what a poorly breath controlled, out of tune, wobbly high noted singer can buy with all of her money! That really was one of the worst versions of the song I have ever heard.

I loved the fact that it wasn’t the same old boring song that we’ve all heard a thousand times. I’m not sure if you know this or not, but Kelly isn’t an opera singer. She is a pop/rock singer. If they had wanted the same old thing, they would have gotten an opera singer. I’ve never actually heard her sing since season one, but I will make it a point to hear her more often. She is so good and she might actually make some younger kids like Ave Maria instead of falling asleep everytime they hear it.
