Mischa Barton pleaded no contest to DUI Thursday in court, as she said she would, and agreed to serve a three-year unsupervised probation term.
She did not attend the hearing. Her attorney, Anthony V. Salerno, was there on her behalf. He said outside the courtroom,
The DAs were very fair in handling this case. Mischa’s glad the case has been resolved.
Mischa will have to complete a three-month alcohol-education class and pay a fine of approximately $2,000.
In a statement released after the hearing, her lawyer added:
Ms. Barton understands the seriousness of this situation and assumes full responsibility for her actions. She and I are grateful to the Court and the District Attorney’s Office for the prompt and respectful resolution of the case.
