There is speculations that Tom Cruise might be the latest addition to the “Star Trek” movie.
A source close to Tom said,
Tom visited the set of the movie and chatted with J.J. Abrams. He asked J.J. if there’s a way he can meet Leonard Nimoy. He said he’d always really respected his work.
MSNBC reports, however, that his visit to the “Star Trek” set was just a social meeting between Cruise and Abrams since they are friends. Apparently, Cruise is a fan of the television series and in particular, Mr. Spock.

Is nothing sacred? JJ is on thin ice as it is with this film, put Cruise in it, and I don’t care how much of a Trek fan he may be, it’ll alienate all the OTHER Trek fans on Earth. And yes, William Shatner IS a better actor than Cruise!

Well, I’ve been a Trek fan pretty much my entire life, but if they really did put Tom Cruise in the film, I’d have to treat it the way I treat all other Tom Cruise films. Avoid it completely. I haven’t watched a Tom Cruise film since he went off on Brooke Shields some years ago (and I don’t care if he apologised to her, his comments were way, way out of line).
