Artist Vincent Fantauzzo, was the runner up for the Archibald Prize declared his work honoring Heath Ledger as “not for sale” even though he’s gotten offers left and right. Instead, it will hang in the Perth home of actor’s mother, where he sat for the portrait last December, shortly before his death in New York.
The artist continued,
I have had loads of offers from all over the place, but I would like to give the painting to Heath’s mum. It’s a thank you to Heath for letting me into his private life and opening up so many doors for me. I feel like he left me something very special. I can almost guarantee if I look at it, I’ll get goose bumps breaking out.

I saw this somewhere a few days ago, and I love it. I think it’s a great tribute to him.
:::extreme noddage::: (i like your phrases, Rachel)
I agree, this a great tribute for Ledger. It’s a nice way to honour an actor which has been passed away. Salute!
This painting is amazing - such an honor to him and his family.
I’m sure his family loved the painting.
simply amazing
Vincent, you are a master painter.
I’m sorry folks, but he looks totally stoned in the painting–his facial expressions, the bleary eyes, totally stoned.
I think it just looks very serene. I’m sure his mother’s not going to take it and say “Oh no, my son looks stoned in this picture I don’t like it”….
looks stoned? wtf? he doesn’t look stoned to me.
Is that a WIG he is wearing?
I don’t think he had that much hair, his receding hairline suggesting he was going to be just like his father.
The father (’Kimboman’) has a ‘Desert Dune’ style haircut that makes like ‘Kojak’.
Yeah - must be a wig in this picture!
