It seems that the 17-year-old David Archuleta is the front runner of American Idol this year. After his performance of “Imagine”, this is what Paula said:
David, you are ridiculous. I wanted to squish you, squeeze your head off, and dangle you from my rear-view mirror. You are, no, honest to god, that is one of the most beautiful songs ever written, and one of the most moving performances I’ve ever heard.

I’ve been saying it for the last few weeks, this kid is the one to beat. There are a couple of people who might, because of age or experience, give him a run for his money, but I’ve already gone on record as to say I think he’s this years winner…and the REAL competition hasn’t even started yet. Should be VERY interesting to see how it plays out.

This kid is freakin ridiculous. I totally cried when he sang this.. I always get teary eyed when I hear a beautiful song sung beautifully. He’s the winner, I can feel it now. ADORE him. i want to squeeze the hell outta that kid..LOL
