Hello, my name is Ronna. I am the mother of this awesome little footprint. My husband took this photo of me when I was eight or nine months along. The baby is my daughter, Makenna and she was born on July 21st, 2001. She was getting a bit restless and started to stretch. I told my husband to grab the camera and see if he could snap a shot or two and this is what we caught. I can guarantee that this photo has not been altered in any way. The photo was taken with a Sony Machiva, the one with a floppy disk, so I do not have a high res image or negative to get it printed in high quality. I sent this photo to several of my friends and family as I though it was so cute. Imagine how surprised I was when a friend pointed this out to me then I realized it was all over the internet! Yes, God does show us true miracles every day we just need to open our eyes to see them.
Do you have a hole in your uterus, Ronna? And was your baby inside your body without an amniotic sack? And do you have holes in the muscle walls of your abdomen? Because usually babies are contained inside a fluid-filled amniotic sack, inside the uterus, behind a couple of layers of muscle. How amazing that your child survived the pregnancy, let alone you!
ummm are you like in 7th grade sex ed or something?? apparently you have never seen a pregnant woman or know to much about that subject besides what you sex ed teacher has tought you
how can that be real?
Ronna, thank you so much for sharing that picture. I am just surprised that you did not notice Makenna’s little foot in the picture. Either way if I were you I would circulate or in person take the pic on some tv shows for Makenns’s financial(future). Ronna I am curious as to what Makenna likes to do. Is she a soccer player a ballerina or does she just run around with those strong feet of hers?
I understand that most people will want to challenge this and waste hours on end trying to say it didn’t happen but it did. I’m not going to “prove” to anyone that it did happen and the photo was not altered and I’m most certainly not worried about those who do not believe it. I bet that there are a few of us mothers who have had a wonderful experience of carrying a child and were treated to the “footprint” or “handprint” of our little ones while still pregnant. By the way, Makenna enjoys running and playing with her two older brothers and is happy no matter what she gets into. And her shoe size “fits” her age group.
I still want to know how a perfect footprint is visible through two layers of muscle, the uterine wall, and from inside an amniotic sack. Oh, wait, I know! Photoshop! Every obstetrician’s best friend!
dude you need to go look at someone in your family of some of your friends family’s and ask them how it happens because i can tell you for a fact that it does.

Interesting discussion of this photograph here:

To quote:
.
1. To see that impression, the amniotic fluid would have to be gone.
2. The angle the foot and leg would have to be at and the force required to make the impression would be impossible for a child that size and strength.
3. The shadowing given the location of the light source is off-the heel and ball of foot and toes are all shadowed at slightly different angles.
.
Also the foot is way disproportionate to the belly. It’s way, way bigger than an actual fetal foot.

Where an OB/GYN disputes that this photo could ever take place physically because of the inches of tissue between a baby’s foot in utero and the skin of the Mother’s abdomen. I actually had someone write me this week to tell me it was one of their relatives!!! LOL When I tried to dispute it with her, she swore it was her cousin Rhonda’s picture…. who is due in August. Meanwhile the pic has been out there for way longer than that.
.
So, well, people can claim whatever they want and pretend they’re the mother of the impossible and deformed fetus, but, uh, whatever. ;)
be as skeptic as you want to be, that’s a beautiful picture and i think it’s real.
it’s fake, in other words, photoshoped……

This is a very well documented hoax, with lots of reasons WHY it’s a hoax, including the lighting being incorrect, the “fetal” foot being far, far too big in proportion to the mother, and the fact that it’s pretty much biologically impossible. Yes, babies do sometimes have bits that kind of poke around, but it’s just a bump. There’s no way this could happen.
.
This isn’t rocket science. It’s just photographic manipulation.
.
It IS a cute picture. I’ve always liked it (and it’s been around the net for YEARS).
This picture is on snopes.com. It is unconfirmed.
