The LA Department of Animal Services stopped by Paris Hilton’s home earlier this week to investigate a complaint about her owning 17 dogs.
The law imposes that a a non-breeder in L.A. is only allowed to own three dogs per address.
According to TMZ, the Department of Animal Services spokesman said that neither Hilton or her pets were home when they visited.
The reason Animal Services found out in the first place is because Paris announced she owned all the dogs on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Monday.
She said,
I have 17 dogs — lots. They all sleep in my bed - well, not all of them, but I let some of them.
She has so many dogs because “they keep having babies, and I feel bad about giving them away.”
When DeGeneres asked Hilton why she didn’t just get the dogs neutered, she said that they all now were “fixed,” but later added, “well, two of them weren’t.”
