I’m not a HATER as much as totally against everything she’s ever been…first the gravy train for her family, the underaged sex symbol, the product…and all that has turned into the psychotic mental case who clearly can’t function on her own. Very interesting that we have a report of Brit begging her daddy to take her out of the hospital and a day or two later she’s out. Jamie and Lynne have given permission to Brit to quit anytime things got uncomfortable or she wasn’t the center of attention. They better realize that mental health treatment is not something she can give up. And if they think she’s going to be better just because Sam’s gone, they are dead wrong.

She knew she had to cooperate and take her meds to be released fromt he hsopital. She took her meds, she stabilized, and they released her. The fact that she still needs extensive inpatient psychiatric therapy is no concern to UCLA, they are a medical hospital, not a mental hospital. Now that Brit is stabilized and on her own, the trick will be convincing her to check into a facility or to continue out patient therapy. From what we’ve seen of Brit, now that she’s free, she will probably decide she doesn’t need to take the meds and her condition will degrade again soon.

Medically speaking she may not be a danger to her self or others per UCLA’s code, however, the fact that Brit is already driving around taking pictures of the papz as she drives, proves that she is still a danger to herself and anyone she goes near. Medically she’s stable for the moment, but mentally she’s still dumb as a post.

Where I live, a person that I know (who suffered from bipolar illness) stayed at the hospital 38 days (more than a month!) before they got released sane and normal and on the proper medication.
Briney was stable for a few little days so UCLA decides to let her go? It’s not enough! Did they even treat her at all or was she just sleeping there??! Why? Couldn’t anyone insist that the doctors keep her??!!!!!

Welcome to the wonderful world of American “health care.” But guess what, it is certainly not much better in other countries. Such is the stigma that the mentally ill face each and every day. So sad.
Actually, it is better in sveral other countries. We are not allowed mental health days off from work, our insurance companies look for the shortest and least inexpensive treatments rather than the longer duration treatments that have been proven to work better, nor do they recognize that funding mental health will save them money on medical health….and that’s just a for starters on how other countries have worked to end the stigma.

Germany’s healthcare is better. But then again, they give us (military) the full benefit because the U.S. government will be paying the bill. Still, I have had a German tell me that it is better than the Americas.
The World Health Organization ranks Germany before the US, although it’s a composite metric and doesn’t consider the US military health care in and of itself.

I’m working for a major hospital chain right now, and from what I’ve seen, the American health care system will never be to a point it ranks with the top countries like France. For true reform you’ll have to address every aspect, not just the HMOs or the price of prescription drugs on a one-by-one basis. The change would have to be massive and simultaneous, and that’s just not going to happen, especially when the pharmaceutical and HMO industries are some of the biggest lobbyist on capitol hill.

I’m not ripping on the US military health care system, but that of the profit-driven American health care system. That’s a key factor behind any of the top ranked countries, profit is regulated and the cost is subsidized among the collective population. The US military system is certainly subsidized, but I don’t know if profit taking is regulated. Nonetheless, members of the armed forces enjoy far greater peace of mind than a single married mother of four who is working at Walmart and who doesn’t know if her kid’s complaint about a pain in their back is covered by their insurance, if she even insurance.

Personally speaking, I would be more than happy to pay extra taxes in order to provide universal health care for American citizens. I would also write a check to britney if she would use the damn thing to buy a bra and some panties, but none of that is ever going to happen. The profit-driven American health care system and britney has gone way too far to ever turn back. They won’t listen. They are only concerned about themselves and their own interests.
Universal health care has huge flaws, but at the end of the day I am thankful for it. There’s a certain peace of mind in going to a hospital for whatever ailments and not have to worry about a bill at the end of it. However, I wish people would learn to take responsibility and care for themselves, and not expect the system to solely take care of them. This self-serving sense of entitlement puts a huge drain on a already drained system.
You mean like not smoking, eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, managing stress, getting a good night’s sleep, and not abusing drugs? That’s what we’ve been saying all along.

American health care SUCKS. I work in a NYC ghetto, and they have NO access to decent health care. If they’re sick, they sit in a crappy ER for more hours than you’d care to think about to see a med student from some third world med school. You pay through the NOSE for decent health care.
The problem with the mental health system is that they have to work with the law. Mentally ill people certainly have rights that shouldn’t be stomped on, but it’s a problem because they’re not LIKE other people. Without medication, etc, they’re incapable of doing ANYTHING with their lives when the mental illness is in full throttle. Mentally ill people have the right not to take their meds; parents of mentally ill children have the right to not give their kids meds; people whose illnesses are in the red zone can make decisions like not taking their medication, demanding lawyers, etc. You cannot treat a mentally ill person as “normal” when they’re in the throes of a chemical imbalance. They NEED someone to make decisions for them.
I have no doubt that Britney is mentally ill and that everyone around her has given up trying to pretend otherwise. She is heading for nothing less than complete disaster and the only good thing is that her sons aren’t allowed to be near her. Mentally ill people are trying- exhausting, self centered, incapable of rational thought or logic. The reasons behind this do not make it any easier to deal with.
More and more, I just avoid anything written on her because the crazy train is too tiring to even read about. I’d like to wish her well and wish her recovery, but it’s is extremely clear that it probably will never happen. So I am going to send good thoughts to her kids, hope that her parents don’t have total breakdowns, and try to avoid news of Britney since at this point it seems a matter of picking out her coffin.

The thing is: Britney hates her family so much so, that if the mental health treatment stems from any action on the part of her parents, then she will reject it as forced upon her by her parents. She’d rather die than accept their help, that’s clear.

Some people dig their own grave.
