Michelle Williams Deals With A Broken Heart

A private ceremony was held Saturday at Sony Studios in LA to honor Heath Ledger. In addition to his family, Josh Hartnett, Naomi Watts, and many other prominent industry figures connected to CAA (the agency that represented Ledger) attended.

Musician Ben Harper performed “Morning Yearning”, which Heath had directed for Ben.

Naturally, the most highly expected presence was that of Michelle Williams, whom will probably morn the death of her ex-fiance for a long time. On Friday, she released the following statement on his passing,

My heart is broken.

Sorry to sound like an asshole, but I had to just mention some small thing. Too many posts on this site contain the word “whom”, and it is never employed properly. Whom is used for indirect objects (dative), while “who” is left for everything else. While in normal vernacular speech the substitution of “who” for “whom” is becoming the norm and sounds perfectly find to all our ears, I must admit that the misuse of “whom” sounds awfully out of place.

No intentions of offending anyone, eu sei que vc eh do Brasil e direi que fala um ingles perfeito! Talvez seja nativa, naum sei? mas so queria comentar uma coisinha…tchao

Oi Grammarfreak.
Sim, nasci no Brasil entao Ingles eh minha segunda lingua. Eu tb presto mt atencao no gramatico das coisas, mas infelizmente as vezes, os sites q eu pego as historias usam a palavra “whom” invez de “who”, entao eu acabo deixando assim.

mas valeu mt pela dica. i will take it into consideration :)
