Barbara Walters told the audience this morning on The View that Osama Lutfi called in and spoke about Britney Spears.
Walters said,
There is a man named Sam Lutfi, who is the manager and very good friend of Britney. He has been staying with her constantly. He got in touch with us… I can’t vouch for this… He seemed to be very knowledgeable and he certainly was very nice. He said Britney was suffering from what he describes as mental issues which are treatable. He said that she has been to a psychiatrist and … I assume she is starting some kind of treatment. She has been having mood swings. She has been having some kind of trouble sleeping.
Walters also said that Lutfi also claims Spears “is in touch with her mother” — because we had heard that she wasn’t — and her mother [Lynne, who arrived in L.A. late Sunday] has been very supportive of whatever it is that Britney is trying to do.

She went to see a pschiatrist…..meaning SHE SAW THE WOMAN BECAUSE SHE WALKED INTO HER OFFICE, THAT DOESN’T MEAN THAT SHE WAS THERE FOR TREATMENT OR IN ANY WAY INTENDED TO TAKE WHAT THE WOMAN SAID TO HER SERIOUSLY. THE WOMAN’S HUSBAND IS A FINANCIAL COUNSELOR, SO IT’S POSSIBEL THAT SHE WAS THERE TO SEE HIM AND GOT FINANCIAL COUNELING NOT MENTAL HEALTH COUNELING AND NOW SAM WANTS TO TELL A WHITE LIE TO MAKE US THINK SHE WAS THERE FOR MENTAL HEALTH.
SAM HIMSELF HAS TOLD US MANY LIES ABOUT BRITNEY, SO EVERYTHING HE SAYS NOW CAN BE TAKEN WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. REMEMBER, HE ALSO ASKED US TO BELIEVE THAT BRITNEY DIDN’T SHOW FOR OCURT BECAUSE SHE WAS AFRAID OF THE PAPZ, AND WHEN WE DIDN’T BELIEVE HIM HE CHANGED THE STORY TO SHE WAS WAITING ON FURNITURE.
ALSO, IN LIGHT OF HER ATTORNEYS TRYING TO BARTER FOR BRITNEY TO SEE HER CHILDREN IN A THERAPEUTIC SETTING. THIS IS BRINTEY PROBABLY DOING JUST ENOUGH TO MAKE IT SEEM LIKE SHE IS GETTING THERAPY So THAT SHE CAN GET WHAT SHE WANTS RIGHT NOW. SHE DIDN”T GET THAT REQUEST RANTED BECAUSE SHE HAS NEVER SOUGHT THERAPY AS REQUESTED BY THE COURT AND THERE IS NO REASON TO BELIEVE THAT IF SHE WAS GRANTED VISITATION IN THIS WAY THAT SHE WOULD LISTEN TO THE THERAPISTS, SINCE SHE HAS MADE A POINT OF NOT LISTENING TO HER COURT MONITOR.
ALSO, BRINTEY HAS BEEN ASKED TO UNDERGO PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING BY THE COURT WHICH SHE HAS SO FAR REFUSED TO DO. THIS MAY HAVE BEEN THE REAL REASON FOR THE VISIT, ONLY BRITNEY DOESN’T WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW SHE WAS THERE FOR THAT REASON SO SHE COUL;D BE TRYING TO SPIN THIS AS HER CHOICE TO MAKE US THINK SHE’S SEEKING TREATMENT WHEN REALLY SHE ONLY DID THIS UNWILLINGLY BECAUSE THEY COULD THROW HER BUTT IN JAIL IF SHE DOES NOT.
REAL OR NOT, THIS WAS ONLY ONE VISIT, AND ON IT’S OWN DOES NOT PROVE THAT SHE WILL SERIOSULY WORK WITH THE COUNSELOR TO GET BETTER. THE FIRST SESSION IS GENERALLY JUST A QUESTION AND ANSWER SESSION WHERE THE THERAPIST TRIES TO LEARN INFO ABOUT THE CLIENT’S BACKGROUND AND MEDCIAL HISTORY, SO IF YOU EXPECT HER TO HAVE WALKED OUT OF THE SESSION TRANSFORMED, YOU ARE BADLY MISTAKEN. BRITNEY HAS A HABIT OF RUNNING WHEN SHE DOES NOT GET HER WAY AND OF FIRING ANYONE WHO TELLS HER THE TRUTH, AND OF DEFLECTING PERSONAL QUESTIONS BECAUSE SHE CAN NOT FACE THE TRUTH ABOUT HER LIFE AND CAN NOT ADMIT TO ALL HER SHORTCOMINGS. DO NOT EXPECT ANYTHING TO COME FROM THIS. IF THIS IS TRUE, THEN SHE WENT TO ONE SESSION. SHE DOESN’T HAVE THE COURAGE TO COMPLETE THE THERAPY.
AND IF SHE COULD TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT HER LIFE THEN SHE WOULDN’T NEED ADNAN AND SAM TO SPEAK FOR HER. SHE WOULD GIVE THE INTERVIEW HERSELF. BARBARA, BLESS YOUR NAIVE OR ELSE P.C. HEART, OF COURSE YOU CAN TALK ABOUT THIS ON THE AIR. THAT’S WHY THEY CALLED YOU. THEY WANT YOU TO TALK ABOUT IT!!!
Also the therapist gets paid whether Britney talks or not. So it’s possible, and it does happen in real life, that Britney walked into the office, sat on the couch with her arms folded, and never said more than two words to the woman.
Well, I hope she’s actually going to finally, FINALLY comply with the court orders and get the psychiatric assessment she needs. And I hope she gets on proper medication and goes to therapy, because it’s going to take a lot of work to get her to a stable condition. (There’s a lot more to the treatment of Bipolar Disorder than just “take your medicine”.)

I’d like to see her do it, actually. She’d be proof that even uneducated, careless, arrogant, self-centered, unintelligent pop starlets can recover from mental illness.

Sam used Barbara Walters to get this story out because he is competing with Adnan for control and Sam wants to look like the one who really cares about Brit. Word that her family was getting involved again probably prompted him to do this hoping that he wouldn’t get shut out of her life and knowing that Britney probably would send her parents packing in the end. Exactly what he did to his old “friend” who ended up getting a restraining order to keep him away. Sam is probably more psychotic than Britney.
