After leaving court, stopping by the Little Brown Church to pray, and grabbing a bite to eat, Britney Spears finally went back to her home where she is safe and sound. While she did all of that, the Commissioner ruled that she will not have her visitation rights restored and that this decision will not change until the next hearing on February 19.
The decision was made after the testimonies of two LAPD cops who were present on the events of January 4th; Lisa Hacker, a parenting coach; Loni Jones, a bodyguard, and Pamela Strong, the court monitor who was also present. Mark Vincent Kaplan, K-Fed’s attorney, also testified.
Just look at those adorable innocent babies. The Commish’s decision has gotta hurt. Britneeeyyy, get help girlfriend.

Considering what happened today i don’t think so. It’s pretty obvious to me that she does care for her boys at all. I think they would be better off in the care of someone who ACTUALLY cares about them.

As a mom of two boys, I simply want to hug and kiss those two little guys; she simply does not deserve to be anywhere near them until she gets help.
At the age of 21, I refused to get treatment for my anxiety/panic attack disorder until I broke down completely and was carted away in an ambulance in front of my then 3 and 2 year old boys. It was the frightened look on their precious little faces as some strangers took their mommy away that I decided to take care of myself in order to take care of them.
I’m sorry to hear about your ordeal, but you’re right. Most people would take being carted away in an ambulance to the hospital as a major wake up call and they would get the help they need. I’m glad to hear you made the decision to take care of yourself (I have panic/anxiety disorder, too, for what it’s worth; mine’s been under control for many years, and yes, it took a major wake up call for me to start to take it seriously, too).
i don’t think she has a panic disorder; i think she has full blown manic-depression that is at full tilt at this point. this isn’t just a silly, spoiled child- this is a seriously mentally ill young woman who wants to be a good mother but simply cannot right now.
I agree with that. But in order to be the good mother she wants to be, she needs a tremendous amount of not only medical and psychiatric treatment, she needs parenting classes.

Unfortunately, I think that the chances that she will ever actually get that sort of help are very, very slim. This is not me “hating” her, it’s just based on observation and a working knowledge of mental illness and disorders.

So you want to force Britney to take care of children that she doesn’t want? Millions of parents abandon their children every year and they aren’t forced to get treatment. Many more parents conform to peer pressure and are miserable and damage their children trying to do the right thing. No one would think twice about this if it wasn’t Britney. She’s an immature adult who was lied to and controlled for many years and obviously she doesn’t want anyone telling her what to do now. That doesn’t make her crazy. She is not required to conform to our standards. However, she has never been held responsible for her actions because she is Britney. Saying she is crazy is just another way of excusing her actions when what she really needs is to be held responsible for them. I’m sure she knew the probable result of not going into that court today and yet she made that decision. Let her live with it. She will never be “normal” until she feels she has some control over her own life.
Montana Mike, you hit the nail on the head. Those gorgeous kids WILL see what has been hapening, and that will only make it worse for the boys and Britney. I want to cry for those children. One day they will see all of this, and wonder why their mommy didn’t love them enough to show up to court and fight tooth and nail to get them back. It is very heartbreaking.

She’s apparently on Prozac, which can be absolutely disasterous in the wrong hands, and can even mimic bipolar. Or maybe she’s prescribed it but isn’t taking it. Also disasterous. Who knows. What I DO know is that it was early 2004 (february 13th apparently) when she was seen with the book “Listening to Prozac”. So I would assume she’s been on it from then (possibly excluding her pregnancies). Not to sound all Tom Cruise-ish, but I’ve seen other people have similar experiences. In some people antidepressants cause far more problems than they solve.
And she was photgraphed at the same time with a bottle of prozac. But if she was on that she shouldn’t have been drinking as heavily as she did last year. Anyway, some of these antidepressants, especially when taken over a long period of time, can cause as much harm to the body as good. Which is why it’s important to get therapy while you take them, which is plain as day Brit has not done.
Prozac is a very BAD drug for people with actual bipolar disorder. For depression, yes, it can help, and has helped millions. For bipolar mood swings, Prozac is absolutely not the right drug, and it can make the mood swings far worse.

The problem is, it’s fairly easy to diagnose depression, but it’s much more difficult to diagnose mania, unless the doctor actually sees the mania in progress. I would have thought she was manic when admitted to Cedars Sinai, but perhaps she presented as more psychotic or something…

Then again, even if the doctors at Cedars Sinai did prescribe a more appropriate medication (lithium, for example), there’s no reason to think Britney would actually take it.
“absolutely disasterous” is the best way to describe every decision that britney has made in the past year. The only way you could improve upon it is adding “…and getting worse”.

I was one of the first people on this blog to realize she had a mental illness, so STFU.
It is the celeb worship that enables her, and adds to the problem. Point is, she won’t have that for very long if she continues to selfishly put her sex life in front of getting help to take care of her children…and her fans are saying just that. Go read it for yourself.

I think it may be that she knows that once she gets treatment, and goes away for a while, she knows that the whold world would know she has issues (like we don’t already!), and she doesn’t want the world to know. She thinks that everyone will lose interest in her, and the paps wouldn’t follow her around anymore, no one would take her picture, and she wouldn’t have all the attention on her. She is afraid to admit it. JMO

my mother is diagnosed schizophrenic, she was in her psychosis phase for almost 8 years, it was 8 years of hell. brit has the same behaviours as my mother does. when she decides she does not need her meds anymore, it is like dealing with a child.
i had to once pick her up from a 7 11 store that she went to everyday, but this day she walked there naked. her reason; ” i forgot to get dressed “.
Denial is not necessarily part of mental illness. Plenty of people who are mentally ill will accept the wake up call that they need to take their medication or do whatever it is they need to do in order to manage their illness.

For anyone else this might have been rock bottom a long time ago. For Britney, who knows….but I’ve said she’s playing limbo on her death bed. Not everyone accepts a wake-up call.
Denial is a defense mechanism, and we all ahve defense mechanisms. It’s when your life becomes controlled by these defense mechanisms that the problems start.
I too, have felt that she has histrionic personality disorder, which explains her attention seeking. But what is a personality disorder? Think of what the word personality means to you. It’s something rigid, and unchanging over time. Personality disorders become so much of who that person is, that they may literally not know there is a problem.
Unfortunately pride, and conceit, wealth and celebrity worship have cushioned Brit’s butt so she does not have to pay attention to the wake up calls.
Your opinion that Brit needs to be ignored by everyone to get better is well taken. At the very least, she needs every one to quit enabling her antics, quit applauding her behvaior, quit making excuses for her. As I said in a post above, people are slowly catching on to that. Her fans could forgive her and understand a mental illness…if she sought treatment. But this running around with papz while asking us to believe that the papz are responsible for her waning career, and shopping sprees in public view while she is claiming to be too scared of the papz to enter the court building…..these are mistakes she never should have made if she wanted the celeb worship to continue. My honest take on it is that Britney’s life has put her in a position of being basically a poorly educated child in the body of a very rich young adult. She doesn’t appear to have normal decision making abilities, and she doesn’t appear to be terribly smart. She’s like a twelve year old, all tantrums and hormones and drama. She’s also used to being the Princess, commanding people to do her bidding, and they would.

Now take an immature and poorly formed personality like that and add in a biological mood disorder like bipolar (manic-depression, it used to be called). The result is basically what we’re seeing. An arrogant young woman who refuses to do what anyone tells her, who refuses to see that people are trying to help her, who will not act on her own behalf because she’s not experienced enough to realise that being taken to the hospital and locked in the psych ward is not normal, not usual, and was actually for her own good.

Denial is not NECESSARILY part of mental illness. SOME mentally ill people live in perpetual denial, but plenty of people who are NOT mentally ill are also in denial.

Denial is a choice. You can choose to believe your own version of things and make up excuses for everything and take no responsibility for yourself or your life, or you can choose to listen to others and start acting responsibly. It’s as simple as that.

Thank goodness! This woman needs help, and those children are not safe around her until she gets the help she needs. She didn’t want to testify to her own crazy behavior, prob becasue the judge would commit her to a mental hospital, where she belongs. TMZ said this morning that the judge now understands it wasn’t substance abuse like he origianlly thought, but it is her mental health that is the issue. I hope that if she does show up to court today, I heard it will go into today, the judge will have her commited, and she gets on some “happy pills” that make her act like a normal human who is fighting for the rights to her 2 adorable children.
