Monday’s custody hearing is Britney Spears‘ last chance to redeem herself. TMZ reports that although she is not legally required to make an appearance in court, it’s in Brit Brit’s best interests to go anyway and speak to the judge, explain her craziness or whatnot. That is, if she wants her kids back. If she is a no show or uncooperative, it could be the end of this messy custody battle.
But there’s more! There’s always more when it comes to Britney, lol. Commissioner Scott Gordon wants the LAPD, firefighters, and paramedics who were on scene Thursday night to testify in court about what they saw.
The L.A County Sheriff’s Department will be there on standby in case things get ugly on Monday to “handle” whatever comes.

I have a fair bit of familiarity with bipolar disorder. I agree that Britney absolutely appears to be bipolar. I recognise the random behavior, the sense of paranoia, all of it. Everyone around her knows she’s unwell, too, but they don’t seem to be willing or able to talk sense into her.

She needs more than medication, though. Bipolar disorder does respond reasonably well to medication in most cases (though it can take a while to get the balance right), but then you also have to learn how to live with it and manage yourself and your life. It takes a fair degree of counselling to get those skills.

Britney has almost NO life skills. She doesn’t know how to make sensible decisions, she doesn’t know how to weigh up her options, she doesn’t know much about anything, because she’s poorly educated and spent her childhood and young adulthood being handled, managed, and directed. Now that she’s on her own, she’s totally lost. So aside from getting the mood swings under control, she needs to learn how to be an actual real grownup, AND how to manage the illness.

It’s definitely possible to recover from even severe mental illness, but you have to want to do it. I don’t think Britney is up to the work it would involve, I’m sorry to say. (Though I’d be happy to see her prove me totally wrong; I’m not gonna hold my breath.)

Just as you can’t force someone to undergo, say, cancer treatment against their will, you can’t force them to undergo mental health treatment. Well, not easily, anyway. Adam, at the end of people Britney’s age are graduated from high school, and college or else pursuing college. They have steady jobs and pay checks They have healthy relationships with their families, their partner/spouse and their children. I never said Kevin was not repsonsible for some of this mess. What I have said is that Britney is responsible for her own actions, and blaming Kfed doesn’t take her off the hook. Also that people can change and mature, and Kfed seems to be doing this, while Britney is continuing her slow descent into maddness. Kefed made mistakes, but he seems to be doing right by the children, at least for now. Whereas BRitney is too self absorbed to even show up to court to fight for the children she claims she can not live without. She’s doing a good job of “living” (if one can call that a life) without them while vacationing in Mexico, rather than gettign the help she needs to be a mother to those two innocent children.
