I don’t think I’d call what she was doing “conning” people. If I understand correctly, she was totally up front about what she was doing and what she wanted. The people who sent her stuff apparently knew what they were doing (i.e., they were sending her stuff). I’d say what she was doing was more like begging than conning, and while repugnant, it’s not particularly immoral.
I would say that the people who hacked her site were childish boys who were threatened to find that a woman could actually get random men on the net to send her stuff to the tune of $40,000!
Although she can’t be blamed for making ignorant (or maybe not) people send her money, still, she lacks majorly in having a strong moral core.
