On Friday, Hayden Panettiere spoke at the Forecast Earth Summit by The Weather Channel. While there, she addressed a group of 22 high school students from across the country who were honored for their environmental outreach.
Absolutely, I would take that. (on being compared to Angelina Jolie as an activist) She was definitely one of my inspirations growing up and she was definitely somebody I looked up to.
She also spoke to People and told them on how she deals with the pressures of body image as a young woman in Hollywood,
I’m a teenage girl and I have the same body issues. There are parts of my body that I don’t mind, and there are parts of my body that I absolutely can’t stand. And I don’t need somebody pointing them out to me, because trust me, I know they’re there. You don’t need to tell anyone else about it. It doesn’t need to be strewn across a magazine. It’s my business. And the fact that you don’t have anything better to talk about than my thigh fat is absolutely absurd. It just goes to show you the pathetic people in this world. I give Jennifer Love Hewitt all the support in the world. She’s beautiful.

Yeah, Hollywood sucks, but that is the profession that Hayden has chosen. Though the difference is, Hayden isn’t pretending to be a size two like JLH, nor is she or her fans pretending that she is the goddess among men, the way that Britney and her fantards do. So Hayden really ought to just laugh this off because if she ignores it, then the chances are that she will never be poked and prodded the way that other celebs who pretend to be goddesses but clearly aren’t, end up getting prodded.
JLH? Could she stand to do more lunges. Sure. Could most people? Sure. But the fact remains that JLH could never fit into a size 2.
Well, personally I think Hayden is adorable. And I don’t see much wrong with her body. However, I don’t agree with her when she says that it “doesn’t need to be strewn across a magazine”. Um, I just saw a photo spread (possibly on this site) last week, of her with not much on. She had a bathing suit on or something, and it was for some magazine. But the point is…if she is going to put herself out there like that. Then she can’t be upset when people want to comment on her body, whether it’s negative or positive.
I couldn’t agree more with what she said.
I have such high hopes for this girl…she is wise beyond her 18 years and so charasmatic. So much like Lindsey, but a stable family enviroment.
