Yes, the strike is still going on and at this rate, will continue for quite a while. Many celebs have started to picket with the Writers Guild in defiance of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. One of the newest additions is Sarah Silverman, who showed her support yesterday. For those not in the LA area, let me tell ya what a big deal it is to see groups of people with signs marching and chanting in front of almost every major movie studio. It’s an insanely great rush just to drive by it and feel the passion these people have for their cause. More power to them! They deserved to be granted the rights requested for their services!

What about the thousands of rank and file employees who are being layed off just before Christmas because of the strike? They don’t make half as much as the writers and will get nothing from the strike. I hope the cameramen, sound technicians, etc. do everything possible to make these celebs look bad when the strike is over.
I was gonna comment on the very same thing. Sure, the writers feel jipped becasue they’re not making what they think they should…which is more than the major majority, lemme tell ya. And the actors of these shows don’t need to worry cause they’re set. They make hundreds of thousands of dollars per espisode that airs, so they’re not gonna hurt for money. But what about the little people…the ones who AREN’T making anywhere NEAR what even the writers are making. The cameramen, the lighting people, the “key grips,” whatever they do… This strike is hurting people who won’t survive without their jobs…and the holidays are coming. I’m guessing that the writers have made enough to survive it and still give their families a nice Christmas and then some, but what about those who haven’t? It’s THEM that I feel sorry for.
