After leading people to think that she was going to be a no show, Britney Spears did show up in court and even got one overnight visitation right from her kids per week.
TMZ reports on an interaction Britney had with L.A. County Commissioner Scott Gordon, where she went back and forth with him for 40 minutes that was labelled as “appalling.”
She constantly interrupted him and at times was extremely sarcastic. At one point she started thanking the judge for what he had done, but her tone was heavily laced with disdain. Commish explained to Spears how she had gotten to the point she’s at — why defying the various orders she was supposed to comply with raised concerns that she was not a responsible person. Spears didn’t get it. She was at times contentious, argumentative and condescending.
She left the court upset and and teary-eyed.
On the way home, while stopped at a red light in the Valley, Britney exclusively gave CelebTV.com her reaction on today’s custody decision.
She wore oversized aviator shades with shiny gold frames and rolled her window down to speak. “It was good,” a demure but somewhat playful Spears told us when asked how the court appearance went. “Don’t ask me that!”When asked if she got her kids back, Spears did not hesitate to say, “Yes!” in a whispery, Marilyn Monroe-like voice.
After, Brit Brit hit up Neiman Marcus for some retail shopping.
One step at a time, but just as slowly as the snail reached the Arc, so will Britney will get her life back together.

why do you always post the negative stuff? i just read an article completely different, where they said she was very polite etc… you should post both sides of the story lol
yeah, People.com quotes a court spokesperson whom says she was respectful: http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20151814,00.html
The judge apparently still has concerns and addressed them with Britney, as well as lectured her about why she is in this situation and to take responsibility for herself, but that TMZ story of her being argumentative is the only one I’ve seen. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21230976/ says she has been wearing sunglasses because of a medical condition. Weird.
We can only hope that she learns from this experience and becomes a better person. I’m not really a fan, but I do hate to see people fall apart. Regardless of my opinion of her, as a person I do hope she picks herself up out of this mess.
The court spokesman (PR person) who said she addressed the judge in a soft and respectful manner was probably only authorized to comment on the public portion of the hearing, when she was first sworn in. Beyond that, after her lawyer cleared the court of visitors and media, the testimony was all closed. TMZ reported that she was argumentative and sarcastic with the judge, in 40 minutes of back and forth discussion. Harvey Levin, as a lawyer himself, may have contacts with court baliffs or supporting legal staff of the attorneys. But even if he’s making it up, Brit stated on X17’s video herself that she wasn’t sure if the judge liked her comments. You know, this is a celebrity blog, not Time Magazine or Associated Press. We’re not all haterz, and we certainly don’t have to subscribe to the Brit Fantard Club to catch up on some recreational entertainment gossip here.
You might be right. The courts PR person only saw a little bit of the hearing. We’ll see.
Yeah, TMZ only one I’ve seen claiming she was disrespectful. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21230976/ says she was nervous, and http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20151814,00.html quotes Parachini as saying she was soft spoken and respectful. The one thing that is consistent is the judge lectured her on her behavior, letting her know she got herself into this and basically needs to own up to the responsibility.
TMZ must’ve not won a lottery spoke in the courtroom and are bitter.
I’m not really a Britney fan, but I hope she is learning and getting her act together. Regardless of what my opinion of her or her music/talent is, I hate to see a person crash and burn. Let’s hope she’s about to start picking herself up out of the dirt. The fact she’s talking to her family again is a good sign.

TMZ must not have won a lottery spot in the courtroom that they’re dishing this up.

kevin.
in fact, we should all be worried about you fantards. you all have completely lost your minds. buying her cd over and over, how many times. ? and on itunes, and ring tones.. voting numerous times over and over making sure she is # 1, you are wasting your money you worked for, or daddys’ money on this whore.
you have no idea what it is like to have children. think of your parents, truly, and think of how you would feel having britney as a mother ! how she is acting and dressing, and carrying on the way she is ? would you like to bring that mommy to something that is important to you ?
and you fantards are our future.
wtf ?!?
She doesn’t have a cd to buy millions of times, and u can download it from itunes a million tiem it will only ever count as 1 download. Voting for what can i ask? Yu’re messedup and deluded, you’re the very thing u claim the “fanards” to be. And if you did understand what it was like to be a parent, you wouldn’t all be as harsh and vile. Anyhow the oficial spokeswoman said she was respectful and soft. But if you wanna try make shit u ppl will call you out on it. Ruben, Carolina. You’re just bitte and spiteful coz u recon she did something to you both once. i hope it involved an umbrella ella ella….
Oh, get over the “umbrella ella ella” bull. Do you think you’re bring clever? You sticking up for someone going off on someone, or their vehicle, with a freakin’ umbrella? You encouraging people to go apeshit and assult someone with an umbrella? I guess I just don’t get it.
Anyways…what “thank you” and others are referring to are tactics that have been used in the past to put Britney at number one and make her seem more popular than she really was. I’ve seen fans go to great lengths to make the numbers look bigger than they REALLY are. When I was in high school and my first couple of years of college, I worked at the Super Target store here in town, and had several people at a few different times come through with up to 10 copies of one cd, and I’d ask about it and they’d fess up that the fans had a campaign going to get the numbers up. And I’d look into it online, and LOTSA people were doing it… And I’m not sure how i-tunes works cause I don’t need to download over there…but this whole “It’ll only count once” seems weird to me. There are ALWAYS ways around it…fans and others find ways to get around it. I’ve gone to great lengths in years past for people I MYSELF support, so I know there’s always ways around these things.
Yes i did think i was being clever, was it not-, did u not find it funny? Oh well better luck next time…
Anyhow there’s no point in claiming Britney’s fans go to great lengths for britney’s previous songs. My prerogative, if i recall didnt even chart in the top 100, or was it anuva song? Britney han’t done amazing single wise, it’s her albums that made her. Although her singles hav sold millions over the years. I’m not denying that the die-hard fans don’t go to these great lengths, i.e buying more than one copy, rquesting on radio. I’m just saying that it’s not as big as “thank you” made it to be.
And anyhow, if you do it, then you can’t criicise brits fans for doing it too.
Now that seems awfully silly to me. I’ll buy one copy and that’s it. Seems pointless to buy like 10 copies of the friggin thing. Hell, it seems pointless to buy the video on itunes when you can see it on MTV for free.
I’m confused. People Magazine said she was soft spoken and polite, now TMZ is saying she acted like this. I don’t know what to beleive. I can totally see her doing both. Who do I beleive? I guess I will wait to make any assumptions until I hear the same thing elsewhere. I’d like to think she is straightening up, but I kinda find that hard to beleive too. I don’t know.
SHE! IS! WEARING! JEANS!!!!!Hurray! I am not much for seeing porno shots (though Shemar Moore was worth downloading)but I couldn’t even LISTEN to the fact that she’d been spotted yet again. I don’t know what goes through her mind. Everyone is going to have a different POV about how she behaved in court, but she WENT and that’s another baby step. Being with her family again is another baby step. Did you ever hear Leonard Cohen sing, “There’s cracks, cracks in everything, that’s how the light gets in”? Hope so.
