Although these images look like photos, they are actually paintings created with oil on canvas. It is unbelievable how the different artists featured here have been able to capture all the details you normally only see on a photograph.

Very cool. :) But the thing is, there are fewer details than you think. It’s a bit of an optical illusion. The trick is to put in ENOUGH detail and to put in the RIGHT details, so that your eye is fooled into thinking you’re seeing detail that may not actually even be there.

Very skillful works of art. Thanks for posting them!

(And before any smartalec demands to know, yes, I did study Fine and Applied Art and Design, heh.)

The cleaning lady and weary traveler guy are actually life size sculptures created by Duane Hanson.
