Berkeley University has begun posting entire course lectures on YouTube. The school said that over 300 hours of videotaped courses will be available at youtube.com/ucberkeley.
Christina Maslach, Berkeley’s vice provost for undergraduate education, said,
UC Berkeley on YouTube will provide a public window into university life, academics, events and athletics, which will build on our rich tradition of open educational content for the larger community.
So basically, anyone can have access to the lectures, whether they are paying the tuition or not. For those who love to quench their thirst for knowledge, that’s awesome! But for those who are actually paying, that really sucks.
P.S. My bad for thinking Berkeley was Ivy League. Thanks for the heads up!

UCB is a state school, so for those who live in California, it’s only $7K a year, hardly expensive; when you think Stanford, which is only a few miles away, is $30K regardless of where you live.
why would it be bad for those in school??….they are the ones that are paying to not only get educated but to get CREDIT…we can watch all we want but we cant say we ever took a class at Berkley!
First off, UC Berkeley is not an Ivy League school.
Second, as a student at UC Berkeley, this is nearly all the classes of what was already webcasted, and the lectures posted online is only a tiny fraction of the amount of classes Berkeley offers.
and the U in UC Berkeley stands for university. No one calls it UC Berkeley University. Get it right.
