The people here assuming that Angie's tatoo about "That which nourishes me also destroys me" is about food are simply projecting their experiences onto her. Tatoos are very personal and we have no idea what was Angie's motive behind that one. The meaning is plain enough - that which strengthens me, is also my weakness. That is not limited to anorexics. That is a universal truth. Stop forcing your personal experiences into her life.

Also, as for Angie's body. If you've watched Tomb Raider, they describe to you in the bonus features how they had to put Angie on a special diet so she would gain weight and give her special resistance training in order to build her up to what we saw in that film. Her Lara Croft body was NOT her normal body - that was Angie supersized.

I am not saying that Angie hasn't lost weight, sure she has. In the past she talked about her difficulty gaining and maintaing weight (she seems to pick at her food rather than eat, always a choosy eater and never a big appetite, even as a child). I can only imagine that with her mother's death and having 4 very young children, her eating habits have gotten worse. But she is aware of this, and has publicly addressed it. Give the woman time.

You know what? I decided to watch Tomb Raider again and I guess you could be right.

Angelina wasn't as thin then. It might not be a natural thing for her.

I don't know. I hope she's okay!

You guys make it seem like every thin person is anorexic. That's what I meant with the question.

It's not a good thing. DUH!

I hope it's not an eating disorder. I always thought she was too smart for that....but the longer this goes on without her admitting to some serious disease to raise awareness for it the way she raises awareness for hte other things she cares about, the more I start to wonder....

Everyone's anorexia?????? And that's a good thing in your book???? So you must also be anorexic if you do not realize that this is a deadly disease that is one of the hardest for people to heal from.

Ignorance is so obnoxious. As I've already stated, "Quod me nutrit me destruit" means "That which nourishes me destroys me". As in, food will destroy me. I have heard it argued that that's in reference to love... bullshit as far as I'm concerned. I have years and years of experience with eating disorders, both in myself and people I love dearly. We have all seen Angelina Jolie looking wonderful and healthy. She can gain weight, not to mention she is now nearing middle age, and her metabolism should be slowing down. This is not a picture of a healthy, naturally thin woman. Furthermore, the entire somatotype theory created by a psychologist in the 40s, is generally considered garbage by physiologists. Besides which, I'm fairly sure her bone structure wouldn't fit into the ectomorph category anyway.
But whatever, you're entitled to your beliefs.

"Quod me nutrit me destruit"??? That could be about anything!

YOU do your research too.

Some people are forever skinny and cannot gain any weight no matter what they do and they LOVE FOOD!

Ectomorphy? Metabolism? Genes? Etc? Look it up!

"Quod me nutrit me destruit", is tattooed onto her stomach. It's a phrase I've never heard used by anyone who isn't anorexic. And while I agree eating habits are heavily influenced by stress... she would not have a tattoo promoting starvation if she didn't have issues with food. Yes she can carry her children. What a stupid comment. There was a comment on the post about that billboard, by someone believing that the woman wouldn't be able to walk. Do some research. There are many anorexics who weigh 70 pounds, and continue to work out for 5 hours at a time.
The point is, whatever the cause of it is, this is NOT SEXY
