Where’s that meant to be? And it’s pretty clearly photoshopped. Those rich people with with swimming pools on their balconies wouldn’t want a view of a slum!
Hey this picture reminds me of Turkey. The right side of the picture looks like the military base, and the left side look almost exactly what it looked like off-base. Amazing.
Does it really hurt to comment about how pictures relate to your life? O.o It kind of makes sense to me! By the way, she is not kidding that really is what the difference is like! We may not have had balconies but we did have grass and flowers, clearly defined boundaries between homes, and then directly across the fence in the “alley” it looks exactly like the left side of the picture. On base kids jumped on trampolines and swam at the base pool, off base they sat on coffee cans hawking all kinds of junk and snaking their thin arms through rusty razor wire to collect cans. That kind of thing really does stick with you and that picture sums up the emotion of the experience. Photoshopped or not.
This pic reminds me of Rio, Brazil. Right by the statue of Christ. The poor live on a hill, that looks breath taking to me. But the housing is crappy has all hell. Well the rich live it up, the division is that clear in Brazil.
Oh yes, a wonderful favela. Great people, the poor ones I mean. All the rich people would like them to die so they don’t have to look out their windows and see that,I’ve heard that many times. I lived next to one for many years and it breaks my heart that people are so greedy and cold.
“Where’s that meant to be? And it’s pretty clearly photoshopped. Those rich people with with swimming pools on their balconies wouldn’t want a view of a slum!”
Lol wow. Spend some time in Brasil or India. Ignorant to the max! Get out more.
LOL! I’ve lived in Europe, all over the United States, Australia, I’ve been to Mexico (yes, I’ve seen the slums with my own eyes).
I seriously wanted to know WHERE it’s meant to BE. What’s so hard to understand about that? And yeah, it does look photoshopped. If it’s not, I’d like to know it! I AM interested, that’s why I fucking asked!
Here. Let me rephrase my original post, which was written when I was probably a bit too tired for it, thus upsetting the obviously discerning minds here.
While I’ve been all over the world, including having lived on three continents, and while I’ve visited many global locations and seen a great deal of both poverty and astounding wealth sometimes with tremendous divides between them, I haven’t personally seen anything like this. I am therefore interested to know where it was taken.
I will admit that it does look somewhat photoshopped to me, particularly the light/colour changes from one side to the other. If it’s authentic, I find it both fascinating and horrifying. Can someone please tell me where it was taken (or if it is, indeed photoshopped to make a valid point)?
I’ll also add a tongue-in-cheek comment, meant to be taken as irony. “Gosh, that can’t be real, those rich people wouldn’t want a view of a slum!” The comment is intended to be disparaging to the rich people.
There. I hope this clarifies and I humbly beg your forgiveness for not being more forthcoming in my original post. I shall in future endeavor to take every precaution so as to make it crystal clear why I am asking a question, and to make sure the irony is clearly outlined. I deeply regret any consternation or concern that my original post elicited in any reader.
