Freedom of Speech…Riiiigght.

A student at the University of Florida comes running into where Senator John Kerry is giving a speech and asks a question. The cops get pissed and are about to arrest him for asking that question, but then Sen. Kerry decides to answer it. The guy proceeds to asks more and more questions, that are mind-boggling, and when he is done, all hell literally breaks lose. The cops end up tasering the kid. Question is, who is at fault?

Holy shit. It was completely inappropriate and uncalled for for the police to try to arrest him in the first place– then to taser him? This was a disgusting display. Incidences like this cannot happen again– we must be allowed to speak freely. He did not call fire in a crowded theater, no one was endangered by his actions or words– unbelievable.

It was inappropriate but he started to approach him. It was TOO much force IMO but them taking him away is right.

It’s sad because they could have killed him. Taser guns are extremely dangerous.

its amazing….John Kerry goes on speaking like nothings happening. continues to answer the question saying its unfortunate that student isnt able to hear the response. Basically condoning what is happening. He lets a kid be wrongfully arrested and assaulted for exposing his hypocrisy. What a wonderful world it is.

I don’t get why are you all so surprised!! America it’s not a democracy anymore since Bush did (not) win elections on 2000, but he just became president… everybody in Europe was wondering how the hell was that happening… Freedom of speech in USA… right, when even music videos, films… are just not shown on TV because THEY (the politics and media) think that the content it’s not appropiate and that society should not see or know some things or start thinking in some ways…, and then u see things like this and … u start realizing that what was known as the land of the free is not freedom anymore…. really, it’s sad, wish it wasn’t this way… but….
I know that, in a certain way it happens in Europe too, but it is not comparable to the situation in America right now, and of course I can not imagine a crowd of people here in Europe sitting and watching a boy being arrested for nothing!!!!!!!!!!
That was sad… really sad!

Totally unconstitutional. Disgusting display by thug police. Freedom of speech is necessary for a democratic society to remain democratic. There has been a fundamental errosion of our rights for decades, but I swear, this country has taken a real turn toward fascism these 6 last years.

Kerry was in the “secret” Yale society Skull and Bones, as was GWB and many high ranking politicos. They also like to hang out at Bohemian Grove, all male club that pretends to worship an owl statue and burns effigies of little children. Don’t believe me? There is DOCUMENTED video evidence online, and Richard Nixon is on record saying “It’s the faggiest place” he’d ever been too.

Ruben may think it’s “mind-boggling”, but then again he lives in fantasy-land Hollywood and spends his time writing about celebrity rumors, so he’s not really one to talk.

I certainly agree that tasering was WAY WAY beyond necessary. There were 6 cops and 1 kid. That being said the kid was being an ass. He rushed the microphone AFTER the forum was ending, he asked his question without permission and in a menacing way, and when the police tryed to escort him out without arresting him he flailed around and resisted. When they informed him they were arresting him he resisted more (Which is by definition RESISTING arrest). He deserved to go to jail in the end. If a police officer asks you something, listen.

umm uncalled for much? he should have been more calm and respectful but overall they had no right to put their hands on him he did not do anything wrong. John Kerry came their for a discussion and thats what they were doing just cause things get heated you dont taser some one. Any who I always liked Al Gore more.

Hell “literally” broke lose? Like, the earth split open and demons and hell hounds and flames and stuff came shooting out all over? Hmmm…. I don’t see that in the video…. (Yes, I’m being sarcastic, but hell never, EVER “literally” breaks out, because “hell broke out” is a metaphor and metaphors are not literal.)

This absolutely ENRAGES me to watch!! There are about FIVE full-grown policemen with him pinned on the ground and THEN they taser him??!! All for asking questions. This is RICICULOUS and EVERYONE should be MAD about this!!!!

Fuck The Police Man. These officers are an embarrassment to our country for handling the situation as they did. I’m calling for a suspension and an investigation of these officers now! The next time I see a Florida cop I’m going to spit in their face for allowing this shit to happen and I’ll get away with it too cause I’m a girl and I’m white. I’ve been in screaming matches before with cops I thought were shady and walked away without even a warning. White girls need to stand up cause their too afraid to touch us. They think we’re the ones they are supposed to protect.

BTW…that was a City Of Gainsville cop…so don’t be thinking all Florida cops are that dumb! I am a little suprised that they ended up tazering him. He was kinda a dumbass for acting like that. Holy dramatic…they were prolly going to escort him out of the bldg and let him go but he cried like a pansy about it…did u hear it? Anyways, I think it was a little extreme in the end, but damn, the dude acted like an idiot by screaming when escorted out…there is a way to handle speaking in public and there is a way not to…
