This night could have ended yet again on a sour note for Britney Spears but it didn’t, thanks to her new manager Jeff Kwatinetz at The Firm. A source close to the events that occured tonight exclusively revealed to That Other Blog that Britney placed a call early in the evening to the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas stating that she was not going to be able to fulfill her duties anymore as host.
Upon finding out of her last minute irresponsible cancellation, club managers placed a call to Kwatinetz, who was apparently busy in a business dinner. After getting yelled at on the other line by the desperate promoter, he called Britney on her cell and “forced her” to make the appearance and explained to her that it was not the right time nor place right now to be bailing out. “Britney was totally whatever about it but followed his advice”, our source continues.
She finally showed up at Club LAX but apparently refused to stay for more than an over an hour. We are hearing rumors that as soon as she posed for all the cameras and did her duties for the club, she jumped into a limo and was driven right back to the airport.
Our source claims she’s back in Los Angeles as her private jet landed in Van Nuys airport at around 1:30 AM PT.

How do you know that these are lies? Do you also have an inside source in the Britney camp? Considering that she has stood up her fans before and performed for 15 minutes for her fans who waited for hours I can see this being completely true.

I’d say they aren’t announcing it so if she flakes it won’t be a big deal to anybody. The VMA people can just come out and say that the peformance was a bunch of rumors or that they had talks with Britney to do a performance and the talks stalled and nobody could reach an agreement. Or maybe she isn’t gonna show up anyway (non-flaky not showing up)

The actual details may be slighty different on each site. some said she changed her mind, while some that she was forced to attend. I would tend to go with she was force.
I am very curious to see if she tries to pull the same shit at the VMA’s.

If this is true (and I believe it is), I hate that she always feels entitled to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Regardless of what she is paid if it wasn’t for her fans she wouldn’t still be making money or have the opportunity to make these 15 minute appearances for this much money. Can she for once take her appearances and concerts seriously and interact with the people she was paid to interact with for at least an hour. It’s not too much to ask. Guess she’s still a spoiled brat. She will never get out of the hole she’s dug herself in until she shows more maturity and dedication to her career and her fans.

So she showed up…2 hours late, ignored her fans, and sent the club who had promoted her and paid her lots of money into a tailspin. How is that responsible or respectable? The only press they got out of this was about everyone biting their nails about whether she’d even show. Christina Aguilera, Nick Lachey and Wilmer Valderama are all investors in that club. Any one of them would have shown up on time, done what was expected of them, and not had the club on edge, and no negative press.

Doing what (and who) you want, when you want, by any means necessary, with no regard to who it hurts or affects is neither respectable or admirably “real”. Its irresponsible and immature. That way of living has gotten her to the point where her kids could be taken away. Is that “real”? I admire the girls in Hollywood with the balls to walk away from these situations, and who know that keeping some sort of dignity is worth more in the long run, even if they get a few less pictures of themselves in the tabloids because of it.
KT, I agree with your post 100%. I didn’t know Nick and Wilmer invested in the club. I know Christina did. And I agree with your comment about all three of them showing up and doing what they were supposed to do. I’m not a fan of Nick’s or Wilmer’s but they do seem to be awfully professional. And I know Christina is def. professional. Nobody would have to deal with any bullshit with those three.

I know the people that read my posts probably think I never have anything nice to say. I made a pretty positive post about her leaked songs so it’s not like I can’t think of anything positive to say ever. Believe me when I say if I felt Britney looked good or she did something good, I would def. post something positive. Is there anyone out there that wishes her well? She is a young woman that has been through a lot and has come unglued in the public eye. She obviously needs constant attention and reassurance.
