I like the arrangement slowed down like this. I don’t know, I’m kinda hot and cold on Mandy’s voice. She can be very soft and sweet, but not always the strongest voice….however, this is probably the best I’ve heard her. She just might be improving with age.
Mandy has never had, nor will she EVER have, a strong voice!!! That being said, she’s still got a NICE voice, and I have been a fan of hers for a long time!!! She’s not over the top, kick you in the crotch, spit on your neck fantastic (ok, guys, name that show….who said it and when?) But she IS smoothe, and very sweet. She’ll never be able to belt a big ballad, but she can sing the shit out of more folk-ish music! I think she’s awesome, and I really like HER. And as for this song, it wasn’t bad. I don’t remember the original all that much, but oh well. Mandy did a nice job with the song overall.
And how about Daughtry’s version of “Sunday Bloody Sunday”? AWESOME if I do say so myself!
Jen, you don’t remember the original all that much? It’s only on all the top fourty stations right now. LOL….you must have similar tastes in music as Mandy since she said she doesn’t listen to that either. I just think that’s a cute parallel. Yeah, it’s easy not to listen to the radio these days will all the technology we have now, and there are other types of music than endless R&B and dance mix compilations.
The only time I would think of listening to the radio is in the car, and I listen to CDs because the radio gets pretty boring pretty quickly!! If I’m gonna hear the same song over and over, it’s gonna be because I MYSELF can’t get enough of it and hit the back button a couple of times…not because someone somewhere decided to shove it down my throat and play it at LEAST once an hour. And lately all I’ve listened to has been Kenny Chesney because I’ve been on a kick since I saw him last week in concert. I’m trying to expand it out now…ya know…but overall, I just don’t listen to the radio!!!

Hehehe, even the beautiful Miss C’s comments aren’t safe!!!!!!!!!
i really appreciate Mandy’s version of this song as you can actually get the message behind it and it’s delivered well. you don’t always have to have the most powerful, belty voice to be a great singer. rihanna doesn’t even really have a hugely powerful voice but what really gets me is how the video for her song has pretty much nothing to do with being a friend and so forth. good job mandy.

I saw this earlier and thought it was really nice. I like it. I still like Rihanna’s version more.
I saw this earlier and it was pretty good imo.

I like it better then the orginal ello ello ol ol ol
I like it even better than the orginal, nal, nal, nal, nal.
but maybe that just because rihannas version is in super heavy rotation since like 3 months or so.

i like this version. even if mandy’s voice isn’t up there with people like aretha franklin i still enjoy listening to her.
I love it. I’d rather listen to Mandy Moore sing it.
