As suspected, it turns out that Elizabeth Arden thinks we are morons! She has now decided to continue with the marking campaign for Britney Spears‘ new fragrance ‘Believe’ using a different model.
Page Six explains,
She looked amazing, but she left the shoot three times in a state of distress before driving away for good. They had decent shots of her face, but not her body, so the art director made the stylist - a cute girl name Kylie Cavaco - get in Britney’s clothes and pose.
They are superimposing Britney’s head on Kylie’s body. Kylie has the body Brit used to have, not the one she has now.
In return to that, Elizabeth Arden made the following statement:
We recently shot Britney Spears for the print campaign for her new fragrance Britney Spears Believe, in Santa Monica. It is true that Britney did leave the set; however, she returned after a brief time. Cayli was the wardrobe assistant on the shoot. We used her as a stand in so that we could set up the lighting while Britney was off the set. When Britney returned, we shot the national print ad with her. The only person in the national print ad for Britney’s Believe fragrance is Britney Spears.

Ugh. Yes, I already read this on MSNBC and they had a poll along with the article asking readers if they believed it was really Britney or if the pic was photoshopped or if her head was pasted onto another person’s body. The last time I checked, less than 10% of people thought it was really Britney in the ad. WE ARE NOT DUMB. The few people who think it is her are Britney fanatics. They will always come to her defense NO MATTER WHAT. They are unwilling to face reality even when it is so blatantly in their faces. I believe that Britney was her crazy self the day of the shoot, took a few photos that were probably unusable, then left. A normal photoshoot often takes hours and hundreds of photos before a small number are good enough for a magazine or an advertisement. With Britney leaving in a rush and being her crazy self it is very unlikely those photos were good. They used a double for her body. Plain and simple. And the face was also photoshopped to hell. I think they pasted her features (eyes, mouth) onto the head of another model who has decent hair and is skinnier. Elizabeth Arden should have came up with a better ad campaign that wouldn’t show so much of Britney’s body to make it obvious that it isn’t hers.

Yes, that’s the problem when businesses stick around long after their original ideals have died. It’s much like Walt Disney would be furious that people still refer to Britney as an ex-mouseketeer, but the people who work for Disney are more interested in the bottom line than they are about values. Such companies have completly skewed their original purpose to the point where they ought to go by a different name as they truly are a different entity, it’s just that they love to hide behind a good name that people know.
I dont disagree, current creators and executives need to be looking out for the creations to assure they’re values and traditions are kept in place even once they’re gone..

Elizabeth Arden has lost money lately, in part due to their celeb endorsements. They are under contract with Britney, from what I have heard, for one more year, they have already lost money due to Brit’s antics, so this obviously a ploy to save as many sales as they can. She can’t endorse the perfeume without her picture being used, and no one would buy perfume from the woman in the above picture. Here’s the key thing: in the past she made commercials for her colognes….have you guys seen a commercial with Britney in it for this?

Britney’s Perfumes have made Elizabeth Arden Millions of money through the years, and yeah they probley havent sold recently, but they sell enough to keep them in stock. When this perfume comes out it will probley sell just as much as the other 4 perfumes that britney has made, because they all came out, when britney was labeled the “crazy” “trailer Trash”, so obviously Britney can still sell things.

Britney’s most dedicated fans can go out and buy something just because it has her name on on it, and set a sales spike iniitially, but in the long wrong……the overall sales figures, which is what really counts, you guys can’t keep her perfume on the shelves which is what she needs. Only longevity in sales can prevent Brit from being just another celeb perfume that came and went. Her contract expires, from what I hear, next year, and they will dump her without renewing. If her popularity is everything you claim then they would renew, but that’s not going to happen. And BTW as of 2006 JLo’s second cologne had the highest debut which leaves Brit’s first sales in the dust.

“Role models” like amateur porn star Paris Hilton and her underwear-challenged cohorts Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan are prompting more and more young girls to “go wild,” but with negative consequences.
Mental health experts say more and more youngsters are being influenced by the “sexualization of girls,” a term coined in a report released earlier this year by the American Psychological Association.
The research analyzed the content and effects of virtually every form of media, including television, music videos, music lyrics, magazines, movies, video games and the Internet. It also examined recent advertising campaigns and merchandising of products aimed toward girls.
What they found was a sort of “Girls Gone Wild” effect in which young girls are succumbing to the pressure of sexualization by posting nude pictures of themselves on the Internet, allowing boyfriends to photograph them in the nude and making their own amateur porn videos.
“The consequences of the sexualization of girls in media today are very real and are likely to be a negative influence on girls’ healthy development,” said Eileen L. Zurbriggen, PhD, chairwoman of the APA Task Force and associate professor of psychology at the University of California, Santa Cruz, earlier this year in reference to the report.
As a result of an over-sexed society, young girls are reaping the following mental health issues:
Cognitive and Emotional Consequences: Sexualization and objectification undermine a person’s confidence in and comfort with her own body, leading to emotional and self-image problems, such as shame and anxiety.
Mental and Physical Health: Research links sexualization with three of the most common mental health problems diagnosed in girls and women—eating disorders, low self-esteem, and depression or depressed mood.
Sexual Development: Research suggests that the sexualization of girls has negative consequences on girls’ ability to develop a healthy sexual self-image.
“As a society, we need to replace all of these sexualized images with ones showing girls in positive settings—ones that show the uniqueness and competence of girls,” said Zurbriggen. “The goal should be to deliver messages to all adolescents—boys and girls—that lead to healthy sexual development.”

You’d have a point, but this study has appeared in more reputable new sources than FOX. Just because she got it from Fox, doesn’t mean that the story didn’t originate elsewhere, or that it doesn’t have merit. It’s just that in this incidence, fox agrees with the story.
And as for the sexualization of young girls, we have only to look at how they turned 15 year old Britney into a Lolita to gain our attention, and here today, left under her own personal management, Britney knows only one way to get love from the public in her own personal relationships, and that is to sexualize herself.

If we cast our minds back a couple of weeks ago there was postings on the web of Faith Hill for a magazine cover. The original was placed along side the cover, and it was edited so much, right down to down sizing of her small frame…so in this case with Britney, it probably will be her in the ad, yet, due to the wonders of photoshop they have made her body beautiful again. If it was done a month or so ago, that was when she was slimmer, she has let her body go even more so since….I dont think Elizabeth arden would leave it till a couple of weeks till they start doing promotion of a new fragrance to do all the photos and such…it just isnt very professional so this probably was done ages ago.
But I just had to laugh at whoever made the stupid comment that Elizabeth Arden has been losing money, due to only Britney, Curious was the biggest selling fragrance of the holiday period, and eventually the biggest fragrance for they year when it came out. in 2004, Britney’s perfumes helped raise Elizabeth Arden’s end of year profits by some rediculous amount, like $13 mill of $130 mill…and if She really was losing the company money they would pay her out and end the contract asap, like Virgin records did with mriah all those years ago..
