Tammy Faye Messner, the former televangelist and Christian singer who battled drug addiction and later inoperable cancer, died Friday morning, according to CNN’s Larry King on Saturday night. He said the family had asked him to make the delayed announcement.
She was 65.
“She died peacefully,” King said.
Messner was a guest on “Larry King Live” on Thursday. She said she couldn’t swallow food, and weighed only 65 pounds.

She truly was a beautiful person inside and out. My prayers and thoughts are with her family and friends during this difficult time.

I am actually in journalism and he could have added onto that phrase as in “Tammy Faye Messner dies at the age of 65″…It sounds so cold with just “Tammy Faye dies”…Maybe “Tammy Faye Loses Battle to Lung Cancer”…Something more…informing

No, I don’t particularly like it either, howeever attributing the fault to Reuben is pointless, because he didn’t make the rule. You will see “So and So dies” as headlines for past and future articles.

I was truly shocked to see her on her last Larry King interview. That poor woman must’ve been in so much pain. RIP Tammy.
I’m surprised that she appeared on Larry King at all given the severity of her condition. I think she must have known it would be her last interview.

I adored her…she made mistakes in life, but her beauty [and eccentric makeup] shone through. Its hard to believe her life could turn so, when she was just on the Surreal Life a few year sback COMPLETELY HEALTHY, and now to see her in such a state, and to hear of her passing…Im not shocked, because I knew she was sick for a long time…Im just more relieved that she isnt in pain anymore…
