50 Cent Attacks Oprah For The Third Time

o50.jpg

Last April, 50 Cent criticized Oprah Winfrey for her talk show’s apparent anti-rapper policy (“I think she caters to older white women,” he said). Then in November, he called her an “oreo” (”black outside, white inside”).

Now, he is back attacking her again in the July issue of Spin,

She doesn’t ever say anything that anybody from the ghetto is gonna ID with. Take a poll. You go out and find me some young black women who ID with Oprah…She can escape the fact that she’s black because she’s a billionaire.

Ummm. As a huge Oprah fan, I have to say that whether or not 50 Cent is right (wouldn’t know the streets cause I didn’t grow up in the “ghetto”), he needs to stop bitching about Oprah’s achievements. She clearly has an audience, and it’s been with her for 20 years, so if people from “ghetto” are not a part of that audience, it is not Oprah’s fault. It is impossible to cater to EVERY SINGLE PERSON.

Here’s a message of love to 50 Cent, from me:

Instead of criticizing and sounding repetitive, appreciate what Oprah has done for ALL communities, stop being so unilateral. Change your perspective, because something tells me you know very little in regards to what REALLY goes on behind the scenes with Oprah’s show and her career!!! *screams*

Loooorrrrddd. I have WAY too much to say on this whole issue, so if anyone wants to buy me a drink (Apple Martini, thanks) I will gladly give you my 2 cents…might take about 12 hours though.

Sour grapes. He’s just made that the most sucessful African American woman in Hollywood refuses to promote his career in any way.
And maybe if he listened to some of the things she said, he might be focused on his future life outside of the ghetto now that he doesn’t live there anymore, or on taking what he has learned from watching her show back to the ghetto to help those who are still there.

uhh if oprah doesn’t hip hop she should just shut the f up and ignored. 50 wants publicity and oprah is giving it him. he wants to promote his album thats how his bizz works

What are you talking about? Of course he wants to promote his album, but he shouldn’t hate on Oprah just because she won’t promote it for him.
Did she say anything recently about him? The only thing I know was that she addressed the language and violence in rap music just like every other tv personality did after the Don Imus scandel. It is her business to engage in a conversation about what it means to be black, and why certain people like 50 cent try to create a sterotype about black people having to like hip-hop. That doesn’t mean that she has to have him on her show.

How can you “Act white”? Oprah is a black woman, she doesn’t need to act like a rapper or get street ‘cred or talk like she’s from the ghetto. All white people aren’t rich and ignorant, and all black people aren’t ghetto-fab. God, get a clue, 50.

Oprah’s show is largely about women and helping them to make their lives better. In my opinion rappers (or any musician who denegrates women) and glorify bad behavior have no place on her show. Why would Oprah want to compromise her own values just to prove he r”blackness”? To insinuate that Oprah is somehow less of a black woman is truly ignorant. Face it. Her declining to give these people air time isn’t a racial issue, it’s an issue of decency. The less publicity these misogynistic clowns get, the better off our society will be.

She doesn’t have a problem with rappers, it is with the way they talk about women. They like to call women-bitches, ho’s, chicken heads, and whatever other derogetory comment out there. That is why people think she hates rappers. But, I heard once she likes hip hop music that is not mean to women.

Those are rappers that talk about breaking the law, promiscuity, doing drugs, shooting people…hell, they’ve been IN jail. That totally diminishes Oprah’s whole show….which is wholesome and family and promotes doing good in society, not causing shit, doing drugs and breaking the law and killing people. DUmbasses, get a clue, its not about race, its about lifestyle.

didn’t oprah grow up in extreme poverty, not knowing her father until she was older, abandoned by her mother, raped by family members? so by trying to IMPROVE, she is considered white?? that is the inherent problem with entertainment aimed toward inner city youth- it is assumed that they want nothing but the limited world they live in and idiots like 50 prove them right. his mom must be so proud that he only wants to appeal to criminals. good to know what malcolm x and martin luther king died for.

Oprah doesnt want rappers on her show because that isn’t want the majority of her audience want to see…simple.

Ludacris went on as an actor to promote the movie Crash, but the interview was edited with most of his comments taken out and she gave him a hard time as he’s a rapper. 50 Cent and Ice Cube are sticking up for themselves as rappers.

Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock are allowed on, no problems, they act/speak the same…but they don’t rap…they are comedians (and big fans of hip hop).

Rappers are a product of their environment, speak what they see and its down to how they grew up. Maybe Oprah doesn’t want to remember those days. Maybe she thinks her lil Oprah set will get dirty if rappers are on there…she may lose viewers or sponsors. After all, she needs the money…right?!

I do not know who 50 cents is - meaning I do not think I have heard his music at all.

HOOWEVE I AGREE that she is an OREO. futhermore, I think she is a fake selfserving selfish person that will do anything for self promotion.

I am so sick of her and the audience she serve…

Middle and upperclass white women like herself that put this corrupt administration into power.

What corrupt admin are you talking about dec21? I just don’t get it. Oprah is corrupt? Because she and her audience have a very loud voice in today’s world? Is that it? Or, you just don’t like women. And who cares if the people that watch are middle or upperclass people? Who puts those names on classes of people anyway? What does that have to do with anything? Just because they might be better off than you and me, does not make them bad people. And why such racism? You do know it is 2007 right? I thought people learned to tolerate differences in people. I guess I was wrong to think of everyone as an equal, no matter what race, religion, color, creed and sex. It is people like you who keep racism around. Banish Hate.

you are a serous idiot. in the nyc neighborhood i live and work in, BLACK community leaders are saying that this mentality leads to handing your community over to criminals. how racist is it to assume that wanting power or money is white? why would you want to live your entire life in a crime ridden neighborhood, consumed by drugs and poverty? is that what the children should inherit? she’s the one building schools in africa and trying to be a positive role model. what are you doing? defending the very people that put a neighborhood into such evil that children can’t even go outside to play? 50 lives in a WHITE neighborhood, enjoying his wealth, while telling people to stay true to themselves. i assume that means to be the one in the trenches while he’s in the tents.

whateva man, Oprah has had rappers on before…Kanye West and Common .. And she had P diddy in her magazine.. The fact of the matter is that 50cent is way too ghetto to be on her show…maybe if he did something worthwhile and deserving of praise then she would have him on her show. The fact of the matter is that she has the #1 rated show which means that if you are a trailblaze or doing something fresh and new then she would consider you for her show… But 50cent ain’t doing nothing that no one else has done.. so shit if I had a show I wouldn’t bring his azz on. HELL NO! Its her show and she does exactly what she wants to do…O.K. He wants to be on a show let him get his own show and lets see how many people watch it.. I know I won’t!!! Oprah is not even thinking about his ghetto azz.

Nothing in life would bring me greater pleasure than for 50 cent to read this ‘commentary’, track you down, and rape the shit out of you. anyone who would wish rape on someone needs to be committed. immediately. what did she say that was so incendiary? 50 is a piece of garbage who lives the high life while others are trapped in the worst neighborhoods possible. kids can’t play outside, girls can’t go anywhere without a male escort- what the fuck are you trying to preserve? people like 50 enable and support the criminal element and hold minorities down.

As one of OPRAH’S peers I have to admit, she does not do enough to help out with the plight of the Black Male in America. We continue to suffer at the hands of white oppressors all across this country and never have I heard her speak out about the injustices that we suffer day in and day out. It is, as if, we have been written off in society. They will not let most of us participate in the ’so-called’ dream, so we have created an underground economy which as been exploited by the same Jewish-Controlled Media that allows her to prosper. It is no secret that Black Women have been elevated or allowed to rise in the ranks in Corporate-America and achieve a semblance of wealth and status, but what does it really matter if they do not have anyone to share it with. It used to be that we (men) paid a bride price, but now it seems that it has been turned around. Where would “Stedman” be if it were not for her? If a brother can’t shoot, jump, catch, bat, tackle or sell his soul as a rapper, where would we all be. Let’s face it, they continue to profile us, scapegoat us, lock us up and date rape our women all over the country. Black Men are not the perverted enemy. The Caucasian of the larger culture who controls our mental falculties by way of the Media Arts is to blame. If we were able to fulfill our dreams by going to the bank, just like white women do, then OPRAH would not be trying to be like or cater to them. Brothers have and continue to get the rotten shaft. I hope Colin Powell does back OBAMA! We all should unite against this crap, just like the slaves brought down Rome!

when you can’t find anyone else to blame, blame a jew! what a stupid dirtbag you are. the oppression is from the criminals our neighborhoods are handed over to, and by people insisting that it’s everyone else’s fault for what’s happening. when a black woman is successful, it is put down by other blacks. how sick is that? you probably just want someone to support you or have things handed to you. sorry, try working. who do you work for, mike nifong? what do YOU do to help blacks across the country? your mentality holds you down and you spread the poison to others.

Not trailblazing? 50 Cent just made $400 million from one business move (not music related). He’s also into property, about to make a few mill off his house he’s got on the market. He’s a hustler (sorry, business man) and making his money, he’s got people all over the world listening to his music, watching his films, reading his books, playing his games, drinking his drinks etc etc. Sounds like an interview would be worthwhile, plenty to chat about! Not bad for a guy from the hood who a few years ago was on the verge of stardom with an album already recorded and ready for release, he then gets shot, gets dropped from his label (no wonder he’s a bit angry) - but he did not give up and let this hold him back and started all over again. Look what he has achieved; most of us wouldn’t be able to accomplish just one of the things he has.

It’s not all bad stuff either, he has a charity, G-Unity, and he has made comments about children’s diet. Because lets face it, USA has a very high obesity rate! Someone needs to do something about it.

One other thing, not all rap music is about what most of you think it is. I had an ignorant friend like some of you, he swiftly changed his opinion when he was shown the variety of music in hip hop / rap. Yeah it’s changed a lot from when it first started, but the genre has grown so much now & there are a lot of variants within the genre.

If it all boils down do his lyrics etc. then why doesn’t she get him (or someone else) on the show and ask why. When Oprah finds out a lot of these rappers grew up without fathers, without much money and the easiest way to get that was through crime then maybe they could attempt to fix some of the problems. Then maybe some of the music that you don’t agree with would be a little nicer :)
