Born Natalie Hershlag , she was the only child of a doctor father (from Israel) and an artist mother (from Cincinnati, Ohio), who also acts as Natalie’s agent. She left Israel for Washington, DC, when she was still very young. After a few more moves, her family finally settled in New York, where she still lives to this day. She graduated with honors, and her academic achievements allowed her to attend Harvard. She was discovered by an agent in a pizza parlor at the age of 11. She was pushed towards a career in modeling but she decided that she would rather pursue a career in acting. She was featured in many live performances, but she made her powerful film debut in the movie Léon (1994) (aka “The Professional”).

You forgot to mention that she and Britney were both understudies for the same role as child actresses on Broadway. Spoiled Britney wasn’t having any fun because she wasn’t the center of attention…setting a life long precedence of quitting everything but the self defeating search for stardom when things didn’t go her way.
MEanwhile, Natalie stuck it out. She learned how to work with others, and how to relate to others. She learned the value of hardwork. She learned how to finish something whether or not it made her a star, and whether or not she was the center of attention. She learned how to live a normal life, behind the scenes.
Is it any wonder that one of these girls still has a successful career, while the other is crash and burning?
