John Travolta and Wife Try For 3rd Baby While Denial Grows

travoltapreston.jpg

John Travolta and Kelly Preston has just announced through their publicist that they are going to try for a 3rd baby. The news comes amidst the continued scrutiny the family has received after they won’t admit their son Jett, 15 is autistic. John and Kelly seem to be in denial about it because of the teachings of Scientology!

Further troubles come as the criticism has grown even further because Travolta and Preston could become great advocates in the fight against autism as they could bring their names and star power for a good cause.

According to the NY Post, an editor that recently interviewed Travolta said:

“Travolta sits there in interviews talking about how Jett loves to read or play sports, but it is clear that the boy can barely do either,” the editor said.

I say who gives a damn! If they’ve got a sick son, that’s their business and not the world’s!!

It’s other peoples business if they are denying their son treatment that could greatly increase the quality of his life. That’s why people give a damn, Ruben.

whenever a $cientology-celebrity-property gets bad pub or starts acting Gay he is instructed to have a baby. Then you get a press release.

I agree with all the other comments so far (molly, alice, tony). And come on! If their son is sick that’s “their business”? So, if my daughter is born with severe heart defects, that’s “my business”? It’s like they’re denying him basic medical care. It’s really disgusting. I’m not saying they even have to “admit” it (although it would help a lot of people feel more accepted with their children if they would admit it), but at least seek out care. A religion can be judged by its fruit, and Scientology’s fruit is rotten to the core.

I have to think the are a little old too have more children, she is 45 years old. Maybe they do get help for their older child, how do we know if someone comes to their home?

I agree with Molly. If they are denying their son the proper care/treatment, that constitutes child neglect and the proper authorities should be involved. It ceases to become just “their business”.

God, they are disgraceful parents. You see parents of autistic children who are far less well off than them fighting to get help for their children and the travoltas are rolling in cash and they see it as an embarassment.

I think all reporters should ask them how Jett is in further interviews because then i’d like to see them make up new excuses everytime they have an interview.

Just an FYI they would be trying for a fourth baby, not a third, because they already have two daughters and a son. Scientology is ridiculous!!!!!!

meggy- what “other” daughter are you talking about??? And I do believe that they need to be activists for their Son in whatever way THEY see as Parents to be best for him to help him with his disabilities. We don’t know anything, we are all assuming we know something. They appear to be good people, and I am sure that they want the best for their children. We are not here to judge, although it does appear that it is what these BLOGs do best! There is no doubt in my mind that Jett is getting the best treatment possible by whatever means suits there lifestyle and belief system. It is not are job to judge that!

Ruben, usually I agree with your posts, but this one, no. You really seem to have some double standards.
If this was one of Britney’s kids, you’d be bashing her.
It’s a shame Travolta is denying his son treatment. There is nothing wrong with having a challenged child, they are wonderful human beings and I wish he would give his son what he needs.

Ruben, do you even know what autism is? It is not a sickness douche bag. Not seeking proper treatment for someone with autism is Low, people shouldn’t be ashamed of their child just b/c he had the misfortune to be mentally disabled.

Autism is a serious disorder and from the reports, it sounds like Jett has that. If they’re not treatinh him for it, that’s a form of child abuse. I work with children with autism and if they’re not treated they can have severe problems.

If Kelly Preston gets pregnant it will be invitro with L.Ron Hubbard’s frozen sperm. Look at photos of Travolta’s kids, Leah Remini’s daughter and Suri Cruise. All of those kids look identical. It is supposed to be a big honor to be chosen as a sperm recipient. The next one will be Jenna Elfman’s baby. She has been married twelve years and this is her first pregnancy. She has shown herself to be a loyal Scientologist and has been rewarded.Wait until you see pictures of her newborn. Bet it looks like Suri.

If the Travoltas wish to refuse to discuss Jett’s condition with the media, it certainly is their right. He is THEIR child. They obviously choose to deal with the matter in private.

HOWEVER, I am not OK with them leaning on Scientology to try and “Fix” the problem. They should be getting him the correct services with proper autism specialists.

the thing is, if they’re so private about jett, why would they announce their attempts at another child? you announce a pregnancy, not the attempts for one. otherwise i would agree with ruben- no one knows if someone is helping at home or what is going on. if they want to keep his illness private, that’s their business. but what they DO publicize is weird… before we judge, is there solid proof that they deny their son help? is there proof that’s he is specifically autistic?

Gross! Ruben you just showed me why I dislike reading your blog. Autism is not something you should ever deny a person care for. It is their child but saying it is their business only to deny medical care is like saying it is their business to beat him with hangers nightly. If that is the case CPS should step in because Jett’s quality of life could improve drastically if they would just admit he has a problem. They definately should not have another baby if they refuse to give Jett the life he deserves.

If she is as old as someone posted on here then there is a huge risk of the child being born with another problem like down syndrome or something similar. But there are tests to see that and she could abort it. And it does matter if the kid is not being treated properly.

Autism isn’t a disease - it’s a birth defect. There are lots of treatments for autism that don’t have anything to do with medication - which is why it’s rediculous that the Travoltas wouldn’t have their son evaluated and implement the therapies that could help improve his quality of life.

BTW - autism is not genetic - there is no risk to other kids! See Autism Speaks website for the facts.

I think People should leave them alone as no one truly knows if they are getting them help. Thats not for us to judge, and its their business, I have a hard time believing they are denying him medical care, maybe they would like to try Scientology as well as medical, Its their right as parents, No one wants to believe their kids have a problem, and some might be in denial, But I think they deserve the benefit of the doubt, Theres nothing wrong with them announcing they want to try for another child, doesnt mean anything.
