Jessica Alba talks more about her views on the industry and the paparazzi in the upcoming issue of Parade Magazine.
On her night life:
Sometimes I like to go out, but usually after work I just go home, take a bath, watch movies. Instead of going out, I’d rather have my friends over and play games at my house—stupid games like charades or Pictionary or Monopoly. Or maybe Between the Sheets—it’s an easy way to win your money back when you’ve lost it all in poker.
On working in the movie biz:
I’m in a business that’s completely driven by white males. The majority of the writers and directors are men…And even though I’m not, like, such a huge feminist, I do want to produce movies on my own that are female-driven and empowering to women. The woman’s voice really isn’t present in Hollywood.

Sparkle, are you mad? Are you actually condemning her for being successful and beautiful? Her complaint about the white male thing is a little harsh but some of it is true, but the magazine wanted her opinion and she gave it. I’m quite sure its not a “serious” statement as the magazine wouldn’t have published it then.
I think she’s more upset about being portrayed as a pretty face - largely due to her own fault via selection of films.
However, there’s no reason to be mad at her… she just gave an opinion thats all, I’ve heard worse.
What kind of game is ‘Between the Sheets’? Is she making a joke or does she mean that she really has sex with her (male) friends in exchange for the money she loses in poker?
My issue with her isn’t that she’s beautiful, it’s her hypocrisy. She claims that she wants to be taken seriously, then turns around and poses in skimpy outfits in men’s magazines! Her actions simply don’t jive with her words.
Between the sheets is a poker game based on higher and lower cards. The aim is to get between them… nothing intimate!
