Good Job on That Letter Britney!

britneyface.jpg

May 29th, 2007 - Leaving Tanning Salon

“We all want a certain image of ourselves out there, and at some point we all do really care what other people think or we wouldn’t be here.” -Britney Spears’ in her latest letter to her fans.

Unstable Britney Spears has written yet another heartfelt letter to the million die hard fanatics still left on her official website. I second Carolina’s opinion which you can read a few updates below this one, but I’m also going to add my two cents to this whole thing; booya!

Looks like Britney is at it again, this time, with a stronger attempt at explaining herself and her actions to the people that have already shown that they’ll love her no matter what. Redundant? You bet!

Nevertheless, the approach Britney took this time was far more personal than the letter she wrote last time back in January, and wether Allie wrote it for her or not, just like Carolina said, I’m sure it was Britney’s feelings. Here’s why I’m going to give Britney Spears props though: it seems as if she has made an effort to “care”, which is something that hasn’t appeared evident in her world for years. After all, Britney Spears is very selfish, and that’s something that anybody that has ever worked with her or been near her will tell you.

The problem nevertheless will never change, she has managed to destroy her image so much that her core audience left such a long time ago…..a core audience that would have grown with her no matter what and that is something that no letter no matter how deep, will ever change.

But again, good job on Britney, I know her letter will impact a lot of people in a good way, and hopefully, she will regain the respect of many, until the next screw up! Joke :)

What’s most important here, for the 58347th time is that actions speak louder than any word, but hey, while Paris is going to jail and Lindsay is back in rehab facing charges, Britney comes out as the strong of the bunch, and what better way to take advantage of that! ;)

It’s pathetic that Britney is viewed as the strong one in the bunch! There are so many other people who are also in the public eye and they haven’t ended up in rehab. She needs to stop blaming everyone else and realize she is the only one responsible for shaving her head, drinking every night instead of being with her kids, not wearing panties, etc. If she was serious about her kids, she should stay out of the public eye and concentrate on getting better and getting her kids back, not bringing them out for a publicity shot.

What did Ruben do? Other than surfing the internet and pining after Britney, probably nothing……

Just because Britney hasn’t been caught yet doesn’t make her the stronger of the bunch. It’s been rumored she is drinking so much she is throwing up on herself again, and she’s also hitting the clubs once more. Given her outspoken resentment against her time in rehab it’s obvious she doesn’t appreciate the lessons, if any, that the rehab facility tried to teach her, and thats why I’m more likely to believe the rumors. It’s only a matter of time before she’s a total trainwreck again, not that she’s too far from it now.

Britney didn’t lose her fans!!! I’m still here, and millions like me around the world! Those who their back to Britney weren’t real fans!

Britney’s sales decreased, that’s true, but even her lowest sales are the highest for many “successful” artists.

I don’t care about sales, she doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone! She’s on her own now and she’ll be back stronger than ever!

I’m sad you lost your faith in her, she doesn’t owe you anything.

being a fan means enjoying their music not becoming obsessed with their personal lives…maybe you had it all wrong to begin with? thats something to think about.

DITTO DITTO DITTO, my friend!
Thats whats I’ve been saying ALL ALONG…True fans are about the music…we are the ones who pearked up when we heard “…Baby one more time” on the radio, without even knowing what Britney looked like yet…the songs is what hooked us…the voice…that unique voice that was completely new…not her body…not anything else. The “other’ fans werent fans in the first place. Just because you like one song doesnt make you a fan. We support Britney because the music first of all…and secondly because we have grown to love her, and there is loyalty there — and we are loving her through the trials. True fans dont abandon their star because they have fallen a bit. we help put her right back up there where she belongs…

First of all, I never was a fan. I enjoyed her music now and then and thought she was a cute girl.
And well, she hasn’t made any music in maybe 2 years?

Anyways, maybe you were a fan because of her music but I’m sure about 70% of Brit’s fans were not only there because of the music, they were also obsessed with her as a person.

Britney was a child star who got too much too soon in her life. As much as people want her to go back to being normal, I don’t think she was ever normal-just well handled by management. The only way we got to see into her world was through management filters. I think we started to see the real her around the time she broke up with Justin. This was about the same time you started seeing the partying, the Fred Durst fiasco (how many of you believe him now??) and her carrying on in shocking ways to us. Because she didn’t grow up normally like most of us, she really has a delayed sense of maturity. A smart woman (no matter what age) would lie low, move out of the lime light, get her life together and come back mature and ready to wow us. She could have the world at her feet again if she would just find a quiet spot and find out who she is, what she wants and mature into that mothering role she always said she desperately wanted.

Britney did not lose her fans if she did no one would care about her and she would not be a news sensation… almost everyone wants to know what she will do next… her surprise mini concert did not even mention she was going to “Perform” and it still got sold out… and u say she lost her core fans…

chateau is right, it is a real shame that Britney lost the golden moment that she could’ve had after rehab and dissappeared and then reappeared without the hair extensions more real, mature and wiser. but that is hoping for something that we would WISH Britney had, which dissappointingly, she doesn’t seem to. To make a comparison, it would be not quite the same, but kind of similar to Alanis Morrisette, when she was a teen-age pop star in Canada and then found her own voice later in the 90s as alternative artist. well, she is not the stronger of the three that Ruben mentioned, she just had her meltdown earlier in the year, they are actually all the same! paris got into trouble at the same time as Britney, and so did Lohan. it is just all panning out over these months, Britney’s meltdown hasn’t finished yet, it is just in a lull right now.

Britney says she is 25 as if that is some kind of excuse. well, 25 is not so young, it is an adult. that childish face she puts on in the picture is way immature for a 25 year old WoMAn!

I think you are right Nena-her meltdown is in a lull, most likely to go back into high gear again at anytime. I reread her letter. It seems that two different sides want a part of her. The management/family side would like autonomous control of her life with her having no say-basically going back to being the cute puppet. The other side are those who are hangers more than willing to tell her she is the best as long as the liquour is flowing and she is footing the bill. There is really no one to guide her, not control her. There is no one to turn to that don’t have their own agenda towards her. I would wonder if such a person could exist in her life, if she could/would let them help her. She is in this huge rebellion stage after being controlled for so many years, that she may never trust anyone and therefore, perpetuating this obnoxious rollercoaster ride that even I think she is sick of. It would do wonders for her to go somewhere where no one wanted anything from her except her happiness. Throw out those stupid cigarettes, do some yoga, meditate and long walks in nature-everything that can center her and help her find some peace.

Since Britney has cut out a lot of people in her life, she probably feels lonely. She confessed to feeling lost after her divorce. At least she has her sons to keep her company. Another thing, since Britney has been in the entertainment business since she was a child, she probably doesn’t know how to live without the attention that she gets from being famous. She’s so used to it that maybe she can’t imagine living without it; it may feel like a craving to her, and that’s why she’s always putting herself out there.

I hate that people (Ruben included) feel like they know everything about her life, what she’s going through, and why she does the thing she does. We aren’t her friends, we’re not around her daily, we can only speculate and the media where we get our info from offers a very distorted, biased, slanted view of her world. She wrote a letter, congratulations, she didn’t need to because her private life is her life and she doesn’t owe fans or anyone an explanation, only her family and those affected by her and her actions. FANS ARE NOT AFFECTED BY HER ACTIONS. It’s nice she’s reached out but don’t criticize her for doing that and call her selfish when you don’t even know her!
And also the comeback thing, no one knows shit about whether she’ll come back on top or not. Her last album did well, she hasn’t released anything new really in 3-4 years. She could come back bigger than ever! Mariah had 2 flop albums and then came back bigger than ever (of course that’s different talent but I’m trying to make a point!). Don’t write her off until the album comes out and we see how it does. If the music is good, people will buy it. There is a lot of curiousity about the album and about Britney. She’s going to get a lot of press and she can get a new core group of fans. Hell, the girl can sell out the House of Blues doing a 15-minute show under a different name…

All that Britney can do is 15 minutes of poorly done lipsynching with bras and microphones that fall apart.
Meanwhile a “little” impersonator is DOING SOMETHING BRITNEY CAN’T DO: SING LIVE, AND DANCE AS OPPOSED TO WALKING THROUGH a WHOLE CONCERT, NOT JUST 15 MINUTES of Britney’s songs.
When your impersonators can do your act better than you can….that’s when it’s time to step down!!!

Oh, and about “selling out” the house of Blues.
One headline I LOVE said it all: “Hundreds line up to see Britney”
Hundreds. ONLY HUNDREDS. In the 90’s it would have been millions, even if they did not have tickets and could not see the show, they would have still turned out. If Britney gave a show in someone’s shack and 5 people came out she would sell out. “Selling out” doesn’t mean shit when the venue is SMALL! What matters is that you all claim that Britney hasn’t lost any fans, and yet, only a couple hundred people went to see her. That speaks volumes.

To all you so-called ‘fans’ who declare your loyalty to Britney because of the music, I say BS. When have you ever heard her sing live? She considers herself a singer yet turns down a career rebuilding opportunity to sing with Cyndi Lauper when she was told she couldn’t lip-sync. Studio magic and lip-syncing to techno-tracks does not make somebody a singer, it only proves them a fraud when they won’t deliver the goods they’ve billed themselves as having.
