Here’s How Kelly Clarkson Keeps Her Integrity Intact…

kelly3.jpg
Kelly Clarkson is speaking her mind in regards to the judgements that Clive Davis has passed on her career and album. Davis apparently tried to give Clarkson a “Lindsay Lohan makeover.” With reason, Clarkson was NOT pleased. She told MTV News:

My label literally sent me a Lindsay Lohan track from her last album and wanted me to record it for my new album. And while I like Lindsay Lohan, like I’m cool with her and I think she sings the song well … it’s already been on an album. I don’t care what pop star it is.

They were just sending me stuff that was like almost insulting. I’m like, ‘You can’t even find new songs? You don’t want me to write my album but you’re sending me hand me downs?’ I ended up writing the entire thing with the people that I write well with.

Obviously they’re a record label so they need to sell records. They want the formula writers and the formula producers that do everybody else’s stuff. … I just don’t like working with someone that gives you a song and is like, ‘Oh, I wrote this for you.’ But you find out that they’ve given it to every other artist and they turned it down, you know?

Kelly is right. She has to do what she feels is best for her career. Otherwise, her efforts won’t be sincere and she won’t be happy, and then it will eventually show and possibly hurt her career.
After hearing her latest single “Never Again,” I’d say she’s doing a very good job without taking input from the record label. She has confidence in her talent and she knows how to make music right.

its a nice song, and congrats for having so much confidence so earlu on, but one thing would definately not sot well withher label - badmouthng it…. and if sales figures are to go by, the label was right,, wants it? i mean she wants to do it on her own, but does she wanna sell the record as well? even madonna concedes sometimes (american life), and this girl is not even 1/100th of what madonna is.

Too early to say if Kelly was right. One thing is for sure: Madonna sucks. BTW it’s a good thing to suck 1/100th as much as Madonna.

Kelly was right to stick to her guns. I want to hear stuff the the artist was part of, at least as much as possible.
Never again is a good song, but I hope the rest of the album is a bit less angry. She does have an amazing voice that’s very appealing to the ear.

How does she keep her integrity intact? By pounding down the Twinkies, that’s how. She’s bloated up faster than a beached whale on the shores of an equatorial beach in the middle of a July heatwave. Did I mention she’s getting fat?

Hey MikeG, since when does her weight have anything to to do with integrity or her talent as a singer/songwriter? You’re a pig. Oh and BTW before you come back with an oh-so-snappy “you’re probably fat,” I’m not, you ignorant fool.

Guys, it’s obvious. Kelly just wants to write her own songs and the truth is: her songs rock. She’s said before that she doesn’t think that you have to write everything you sing, which we know that from her Thankful and Breakaway albums (which consist of songs that she did not write herself). This article’s all about Kelly making a stand for herself, how did the topic of disscussion get to her weight? I think she looks awesome, and that she should keep writing. We all believe in you, Kelly!
