Madonna was asked to reprise her role from the hit musical Evita by Andrew Lloyd Webber but said no because she was rehearsing for Live Earth the following week. Live Earth is led by Al Gore and is aimed to raise awareness of climate change.
A source told The Mirror in the UK:
“Live Earth approached Madonna first and she is committed to performing there. It would be extremely hard to rehearse for both gigs at the same time and she wouldn’t want to give less than 100 per cent to either.”

Madonna has come a long way, in her career, and in her personal life. There used to be a time when people said Britney was the next Madonna. The comparisons just don’t add up anymore, sure Madonna is still eccentric, but she has more than that to offer the world.
too bad for the royals, i guess, but i’m glad madonna chose Live over death.
