Us Weekly is reporting that Britney Spears has cut her parents out of her life and that the only family Britney is still seen with is her cousing Allie:
She feels her mother gave [fired manager] Larry Rudolph power: He handed her kids over to her ex. Britney loves her mom and they talk almost every day, but they aren’t the most cordial conversations.
Now, according to the New York Daily News, Joe Simpson (father and manager to Jessica and Ashlee) is coming to the rescue:
Joe Simpson is considering managing Spears’ career, or what’s left of it, just as he has done for Jessica and her sister, Ashlee.
So you are telling me that if Britney did really cut off her family, that it’s normal? That it’s ok? That if her family had to intervene because they felt that she was out of control, a girl, who unfortunately grew up in an unhealthy manner by having her adolescent archived for the world to see, that it’s ok for her to discard of those who have been there since before she was “Britney Spears”? Tell me, does anyone not see a problem with this? Am I crazy? It KILLS me to hear these supposed stories of her being at odds with her family, especially if the world saw that once she divorced Kevin, her behavior only pointed to the fact that she needed immediate help. I am not Britney fan, but seriously, Ruben did you ever try to position yourself in her shoes and see the way she sees things, maybe you;d get a glimpse of her side of the story rather than sticking with Larry Rudoplh (whom you have closer ties with). The way i see is is that Britney was told what to do since the young age and she obeyed and now she blames her family and her managers for her problems. The fact is she has a point because they were the adults PUSHING her to stardom not the other way around. And now then everything seems messed up, Britney blames her family and manager and everyone is on the managers side ? Why ? I just don’t see why Britney is the only one to blame her. Cuz she really does have a reason to put at least some of the blame on the people around her. she was taken advantage of on some level, not the other way around. THink about it…

No one knows that her family intervened with her or not. I never saw her family around her during the roughest of times. Where were they when she filed for divorce? Or when she was being portrayed as a horrible mother in the middle of last year? No where. Living off the money she worked so hard to accumulate.

Sure, gossip is based on a narrow piece of information that is fabricated or exaggerated to seem more interesting than it actually is or is out-right made up!
No one really knows what goes on, we only receive snippets of information. Some true, some completely fake, some of it is written just for the hell of it (I.e. it sells!).
What’s ironic is how a while ago, the readers were present with a blog entry of how EASY it is to create a totally different story from a set of pictures, than what may have actually happened at the time when the photographers were snapping them. And this is EXACTLY, what’s happening here!
I see one sentence about family, that has been interpreted as her having cut ties with her family?! Talk about a skewered semiotic reading! lol.
Although, I do love the fact that the purpose of this blog’s form is to entice the reader to believe that should we have a differing opinion than what is written, it is wrong. The irony lies in the fact that 80% of this blog’s articles ARE purely opinion and maybe the occassional fact. Genious! :D
The first step to recovery for any kind of problem is to accept responsibility for your problems. Britney never does. She blames everyone else. She’s still seems like a mess to me. Now I’m reading on the internet that she’s been drinking alot of wine lately. Just the whole valley girl rants she did showed this girl is very immature. The whole walking into the dance studios half dressed looking like a hooker at her age. Anyone else would have gone in with sweats on and changed inside. She knows she’s got the paps filming her. She’s addicted to attention big time. I think she needs major help.

I can’t ever see Papa Joe managing Britney. I think he’d die first. If he did, it would be to “save her” or some other similar motivation.
Also, I can totally imagine Britney cutting ties with her family. That’s so predictable. It’s really sad that this is the person she’s become, but I can see her not appreciating what they’ve done and seeing only the bad of the “intervention”.
Whatever. She’s still hott, and she has great music. That’s all I’m interested in at this point. If I try to invest myself in the person she is, I would be disappointed everyday of my life.

This story may be half-true…I don’t think Britney would go to Jessica’s dad. She may be angry at her family because she might feel betrayed…who knows. If she really “didnt” need help then imagine how she must feel…what if all of this wierd behavior really was tied to depression….women go through it after birth due to hormonal changes, and she had two children in under two years. But why the lack of communication? her family should be the FIRST to know whats really going on….Fe spoke out agaist her…so did her dad and an aunt…her bro sis, and mother have remained silent — its just all confusing but all that matters is that she doing ok. I just hope she didnt really cut ties with her family…

I don’t know that I believe the whole part about Mr. Simpson supposedly managing her now. I could definitely see her severing her relationship with her family, though. I think in some way she feels betrayed by them. I’m not saying it’s the right thing to do, but in her mind.. maybe it is.
I doubt this will actually come to be, Ruben. It actually sounds like something somebody just made up. Joe Simpson isn’t actually the right caliber to manage Britney. As far as her family goes, they do have some responsiblity in Britney’s delayed maturity. She spent most of her childhood performing and working and creating a lucurative business for her parents. She didn’t drive herself to gigs and auditions. But anyhoo, Britney has always been family oriented and her family will most likely continue to be a part of her life even if it is rocky for a while. I think the idea of Joe Simpson taking over Brittany’s career is really waaaaaaay over the top. I can’t think that she would have him controlling her every move like he did with his daughter, Jessica. It might be a media test run for her p.r. company. But I can’t see it.
In regards to her own family, I feel sorry for everyone. I am a mother of grown children myself. At this point (age 25), this is her life regardless of what others think. I am sure her parents have done their best in giving her advice for her best interest. I am not sure Britney is ok mentally. Her behavior is not just postpartum, as she would like to believe, but more bipolar, and I pray she gets help for herself with the right doctor for the sake of her family and career.
I don’t believe the rumor that Joe Simpson will be managering Brit’s career. I can’t see it. I honestly don’t see Jessica or Ashley likeing it. These girls are in competition against her. As far as Lynne Spears I bet she’s really having a hard time if the rumors are true her and Brit are on the outs. I wonder what her relationship is like with Jamie Lynn these days…and by the way, when was the last time we seen Britney Spears with her kids? Does little Jayden even exist? Even if it really had been her idea to want to be a star - you can and should control and protect a child as young as Brithney was when her parents let her do Mickey Mouse Club.
