So Wrong: Holly Madison’s Naked Ad For Peta

hollymadison_peta.jpg
One of Hugh Hefner’s three hundred and sixty two thousand girlfriends (all who fall in the age range where they could be his granddaughters) posed naked for a new PETA campaign with the tag line “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur“.

Guess what……my respect for PETA has as of now diminished. If you’re going to use celebrities for a cause, please use celebrities that the public looks up to and admires, cause you just went commercial on my ass!

To watch the behind the scenes of the shoot, which, will remind you of a soft porn teaser, go here.

“cause you just went commercial on my ass!”
Well, duh! I mean, why on earth would any advocacy group NOT want to be commercial?
‘We’ve got a cause we are really passionate about, that we believe fervently in, we have a message we want to whole world to hear… but we really don’t want to appeal to the masses.’
Please, has Hollywood suddenly become a byword for avant garde and respectable? I don’t think so. And on the one hand you give Eva Mendes props for getting her kit off for no other reason than self-publicity, and then you slate Holly Madison for stripping off for a good cause. Come on!
I say good on Holly, and good on PETA. They both have my respect for standing up for what they believe in.

This is absurd. I watched 1 of those shows on E channel and she was cooking for Hugh & the girls and making freaking hamburgers.

How can you be on tv cooking meat and then do this ad?

I agree! Animals are animals. If you’re going to eat them, you may as well wear the fur. There is no difference. As a vegan, I find her involvement in an “anti-fur campaign” a complete joke, and an insult to the very animals she thinks she’s trying to save.

I say kudos to Holly for taking a stand against the horrific fur industry. Sleazy women who don themselves in the bodies of abused animals just display a lack of any sort of moral values.

Holly and PETA: keep up their fantastic work in stopping this bloody industry!

I agree with Ruben. This is totally commercial. I doubt if she can tell the difference between a seal and a penguin.

I’d have appreciated the ad much more had it been someone else who could actually serve as a role model and doesn’t get naked because they’re porn stars or whatever.

Wearing fur has nothing to do with cooking meat. This is not an ad to be a vegetarian; this is an ad denouncing wearing fur.
I eat meat but do not wear fur - they are two completely different issues.
As far as PETA using Holly - I, too, had the impression of her that one would typically have of someone in her situation. I don’t judge people; just simply have different opinions. I am the same age as her and would not be interested in posing for Playboy (although I would definitely do Maxim!! haha) nor would I date Hugh Hefner. HOWEVER, I gave the show a chance out of curiosity, fell in love with it, fell in love with her, and my opinion of her and her lifestyle totally changed. Holly is a lover of animals and it seems completely natural (no pun intended!) for her to play a part in the PETA campaign. It sounds to me, Carolina, like you are harboring a bit of jealousy. Anyone who is committed to this cause would be THRILLED for PETA to place a “commercial” celebrity in their ads, because it raises awareness and, as much as you may dislike it, starts a following. People ARE fans of Holly and there are fans who WILL stop wearing fur and who WILL support this cause simply because Holly Madison does.
I say, whatever it takes to stop the horrible production of animal fur and the means in which manufacturers get it, I am behind 100%!!

I agree with you Barbara. Holly is a great person. Just because she does not live her life in what most of society deems normal does not make her less of a person. From watching the Girls next Door I have grown to see that appearances can be very misleading. Holly is a sweet girl, loves animals, and you can tell she actually loves Hef for who he is not just his bank account and mansion. So why is it wrong for her to pose for an anti-fur campaign. If you saw the xmas episode you would know that when the girls got their one gift, the fur coat, Hef made it a point to let them know it was Fauxfur and not real. So I guess it all comes down to people just being judgemental about each other without stopping to know all the facts. I say Go Holly! Stand up for what you believe in.

They are NOT two completely different issues. Have you ever once looked into factory farming? I’m guessing you have not. If you had, and knew anything about it at all, you’d know it’s just as barbaric as killing animals for fur. If a person is going to say she “loves” animals, then she should prove it by not relying on them for anything–not food, not cosmetics, and not clothing. For you to say that Carolina is JEALOUS is ridiculous. She is stating the fact that Holly looks hypocritical—which she does.

hmm… Let’s see, previous PETA spokespeople: Dennis Rodman, Anna Nicole Smith, Pamela Anderson. There is nothing wrong with any of them in my mind, but PETA has been doing this since day one. I find that PETA itself has pulled some stunts in the media that are at times less than respectable. I’m not sure why this is so appalling if you are at all familiar with the organization.

PETA blows. They kill animals themselves; just do the research. While I am extremely against fur and the fur trade I am also against PETA and the hypocritical things they do behind their own closed doors. They’re scum as well. For example, they directly fund (and encourage) those who bomb and destroy property. Disgusting. And whoring women out for these commercials like they’re porn models is disgusting as well. Fuck fur and fuck PETA.

peta only euthanizes animals who have suffered too much and cannot physically survive. youre a cocksucker who obviously doesnt get his shitbag “research” right. its not WHORING women out retard, its a fucking AD for gods sake. im sure you take your lame ass into your house and jerk off to porn, so you shouldnt talk about whoring people in advertisements.

what is wrong with you people? holly is a beautiful sweet girl who adores animals. there is nothing wrong with her wanting to help with a great cause. she is not a porn star, porn stars do sexual things on camera, she simply models nude. big deal? shes a animal lover whos lending a hand in getting the word out that fur is wrong to wear.

I say kudos to PETA for getting holly to pose for them, because rather you believe it or not holly madison is a rolemodel to many people out there.

you shouldnt talk shit about people you dont know. you dont know her. plus, youre all assholes for thinking the shots too commerical. how lame of you. you probably just take it up the ass, thats why you dont find the picture hot. just because someone isnt a role model to you, doesnt mean they are not a role model to others. get a life and keep your shitbag opinions to yourselves.

I happen to know with complete certainly what a sincere and truly nice person Holly Madison is.
PETA couldn’t have picked a more wonderful person. Many people cannot go the entire way with animal rights. I eat meat–I won’t wear fur. We each have our limits of what we can do and how we live but hey–at least we’re trying and it’s something! It may not be enough for extremists that are alway patting themselves on the back and putting the rest of us down for now going all the way with it.Kudos to those who can , but please do not put Holly down for her efforts!
