Is Britney Spears Already Dysfunctional Business In More Trouble?

britneylarry2.jpg
Is Britney Spears and her manager Larry Rudolph butting heads again? According to an article originally published by Ok! Weekly and later expanded and researched by Fox News, it appears as if Britney is not very happy with her manager and “didn’t know what she was doing” when she signed a 5-year contract with him right after filing for divorce with Kevin Federline. Due to the fact that I am waiting for a statement from Larry (and I wouldn’t be surprised if he wouldn’t want to comment) I’m not gonna give my opinion on whether or not I think there’s any validity to the story, but, I will break down what Fox News reported and I’ll throw in my two cents about all this.

Fox News says:

Does Britney Spears “hate” her manager, Larry Rudolph? And is Rudolph even her manager? Here’s a better question: Who is in charge of Britney Spears, anyway? A day of frustrating phone calls yesterday leads me to believe that actually no one is calling the shots for the beleaguered pop tart.

It’s no news that Britney Spears has been calling the shots on herself for the past 2-3 years, even when she was temporarily managed for 2.5 years by Dan Dymtrow, or else, she wouldn’t have fallen.

Spears, for example, has been telling friends that she “hates” Rudolph and never intended to sign with him again after leaving his orbit in October 2004. But then, when Spears went off the deep end last year following her separation from the infamously impaired Kevin Federline, Rudolph stepped in and got Spears’ name back on the dotted line. “She signed a five year contract with him,” says a source. “She says she didn’t know what she was doing at the time, and can’t stand him.

Fact is, to Larry’s surprise, it was Britney that called him following her divorce filing with Kevin. It was Britney’s decision to bring her old management back. It was not them who stepped in, she had them step in for her. So, she’s 25 years old and “didn’t know what she was doing”. Oh I say to their “inside source”……same old story!

Spears also has no proper publicist in place. Leslie Sloane-Zelnick, who got her through years of scandals, is off the case. Spears’ record company publicist, Gina Orr, doesn’t respond to emails or calls. If Britney is unhappy with Rudolph, it’s likely that she can’t do much about it, especially with that contract. But after her divorce, all her rehab expenses and her constant nights on the town at pricey L.A. restaurants like Koi or The Bridge — she’s been spotted picking up the bill at both places recently — Spears had better get back to work. And just an album won’t cut it. She’s got to figure out a way to tour. It’s the only way left to make money in what was once known as the music business.

Managing Britney is like taking care of a rebellious teenager. You give them advice and you tell them to not do certain things, but they’ll do it anyway without thinking. Don’t forget all the things Felicia Culotta revealed in that heart felt letter. I’ve also heard the word around town that the very few managers that would have the power to reinvent her don’t even want to touch her because of her track record as a dysfunctional business (as of late). If I was Britney, I wouldn’t go around saying that she “hates” her management team, because she’s talking about the people that originally made her, and still could because they’ve worked with her for so long and know the ins and outs of her.

Sorry to all the die hard fans, I can already see the herds that are gonna come and comment on this and claim that I hate the girl (not true), but I’m just being real. I’ll let you know if I hear anything else.

Ruben, you are very right! Britney has done all of the damage to herself! I think it is up to her to get a dang stlyist (she cant dress worth crap) and start to look professional. She still looks like a mess, with weird contacts. Train wreck!

Instead of saying everything she is doing wrong, lets just leave her alone, until she is ready to prove that she has what it takes!

Ruben I compeltley agree with you.The only person that could handle Britney is Larry. He is the one who has made her into the star she is and she needs to get her act together and realize that without Larry there will not be a comeback.

I highly doubt it’s all true. Because I don’t any reason why I need to believe any of these sources. What was the last true thing they wrote ’bout Britney (which wasn’t confirmed before, of course)?
I’ll believe it only when there will be any confirmation of this in People or from Britney or Larry them selfs.
Right now it’s all bullshit, sorry.

Ruben you’re so right. Britney needs management and she needs Larry. Without a team Britney is a complete mess and falls apart. She needs Larry, she needs a publicist, she’s needs a stylist. It’s clear now that Britney cannot function on her own. I think she’s a sweet girl but she just doesn’t get it.

I really hope this is not true.
Britney needs Larry more than ever right now, even if she doesn’t know it. This girl has the potential to do so much, to come back stronger than ever — I really pray she doesn’t screw it up.

Britney has grown to become a crazy and unpredictable person.

I don’t understand how the freak can have fans, but she does. It’s amazing.

Dude, be a real damn entertainment reporter and stop acting like your a damn celebrity and we care what your thoughts are…. especailly negative ones in a world like today’s. Britney isn’t a trianwreck, you put a negative twist to every damn thing she does and my friend, SHE made you who you are/or are not today…. It’s because of her celebrity and her fame that you even are able to have this stupid site and business, get a clue! You’re so arrogant and it’s highly annoying!

Britney Spears Fan!!!

P.S. For the record I’m not a teen I’m a grown woman who works in the legal field and have for the past 12 years!

I just read your “Comment guidelines: No spamming, no profanity, and no flaming. Inappropriate comments will be deleted outright.” for posting a response here.

Funny how we have limits but you can go on and on without end about people in a negative light but when that light is placed on you, you have an issue, well maybe Britney does too!!

I’m tired of all the media’s BS for her!

Ruben,

Do you know Britney personally? Have you spoken to her directly? I am assuming that you have since your previous site was the biggest fan site.

There is only one person who has the power to change Britney’s life and that is Britney.

I totally admired her. She is like the female Michael Jackson. She may not be a better singer but she is a complete performer.

She is totally screwed-up.

I hope that the government can regulate how much these adolescents can work. Most of these child performers ended up dead, fucked-up, making babies and in turn screw up their children’s lives…

I will be surprised if Britney lives longer than Anna Nicole. If it’s not liver damage, cervical cancer due to multiple partners, emphysema or lung cancer…..

Whatever!
Britney has done enough to live comfortably for her next 4 lives if she wanted. She’s not done! she’s not broke and she’s only in her 20’s and already worth more than 100 million…she has investments and still gets royalties from all of her previous work.
I read that just last year, without any official albums, singles or new productions she still sold around 300,000 albums (all 4 albums combined including her greatest hits and Remix CD)that number is still higher than a lot of people that release new projects.
She can make more music or not, tour again or not and she’ll still be ok…Her true fans support her and will be loyal to regardless and Ruben, when you first started WOB, you were one of us too, now you seem to be a bit sided…but she’ll still be ok without your writing or your fan status…thanks!

Hey Victor

Do you remember when Michael Jackson had a mansion and piles of toys? All gone!

Don’t believe the recent published estimates of her worth because they were not done by financial experts. The guy counted all of her income since 2001 and then added in the value of her properties. How did she buy the properties and keep all of her money?

How much do you think BS gets from the sales of 300,000 albums? It’s probably not enough to keep even one mansion with staff going for a year. And how long will those old albums keep selling?

A normal person could live a lifetime and then some on her money but I’m betting that she can’t.

On ‘Britney Spears Goes Out For Steak and Leaves Her Bra At Home - Again’, I made a comment about giving up on trying to guess what Britney’s thinking.

And now here, I see and read that she doesn’t even know herself. Hilarious.

Ruben, your the best! Thank you for your shared information. I think without Larry Britney is nothing. Britney is a lost soul. The people she pushes away are the people who save her career again and again. I think Lsrry has done wonders for Brit. Actually I thank Larry for even trying to put up with Britney. I used to think Britney will be the next Madonna but no way in hell. Madonna has always been a strong woman. Britney is anything but. Britney was at the top of her chain until she threw it all away and I said it once and I’ll say it again…it all started to crumble when Justin left her ass, she gave up on herself, she became bitter and started making poor choices. I want to root for Brit so badly but sometimes it’s hard. I used to be all about Britney now I don’t think of her as much cause when I think of Britney all I think about is hoosier nasty Britney Spears.

I really doubt this is real at all, i think it’s just some tabloid invention from OK magazine. From what i’ve heard Britney is happy with her management, and that’s why she called him back. Also there is not true to the whole 5 year contract.

Yeah I doubt it’s real at all, it’s probably another fake story from both Ruben and OK magazine. I really dont think Britney is unhappy with that manager. Also where is the proff that there is a 5 year contract. they should of said 10 year to spice it up and they should of added something like Britney is furious because she doesnt want to see the man that she slept with. they could of made something like “Britney and her new manager slept together and now she doesnt want anything to do with him at all” you konw i mean that’s how redicules these magazines get most of the time.

If Britney really said that she “didn’t know what she was doing at the time” when she signed that 5-year contract with Mr. Rudolph, then she deserves no help from him. And I’m tired of hearing about her shirking responsibility by using the same excuse of not “knowing” or “understanding” what she does. She’s going to be 26-years-old this year! Is she still going to use that same excuse when she’s in her thirties, forties, and older?

I’m reminded of the time she did that photo shoot for Esquire Magazine where she was naked from the waist down, and then later was angry at the photographer and magazine for publishing the photos, because she claimed that she “didn’t know what she was doing.” Her transfer of blame disgusts me.
