Unlike other celebrities who are too busy getting busy within the Hollywood circuit,
Leonardo DiCaprio, an environmentalist, flew to Iceland with famed photographer Annie Lebowitz and her team to shoot the cover of the newest
Vanity Fair. The baby polar bear was shot at the
Berlin Zoo in Germany (was added to the photo later).
DiCaprio, as you may know, is one of the few celebrities that have been raising awareness about the effects of global warming and how it is affecting our planet today more than ever. He has supported the cause for several years and has dug deep into his own pockets to help make a difference. I salute him!
Kudos to him for a good cause. I can’t help but wonder, though, how much fuel was burned on that plane getting him to Iceland for said photo op.
thats the cutest polar bear!! and kim has a good point about the greenhouse gases emitted for dicaprio’s flight..
ive heard a lot of people talk like that about al gore and his jets. hmm
I don’t agree with him and I think man-made global warming is becomming political correctness in most western countries. I haven’t fallen for it and believe 95 % of global warming is by natural causes. Just few decades ago the mainstream media claimed that the next ice age was just around the corner.
Still great shot and nice to see one of my fav actors dropping by for a visit. Being an Icelander myself I have visited Jökulárslón couple of times, its a really breathtaking place.
Leonardo DiCaprio is an idiot. Polar bears in Iceland are evidence of extensive icing of the sea between Greenland and Iceland. If you take the time to research the history of Polar Bears in Iceland you will see that historically they have been associated with more ice not less ice. The articles you see about bears swimming 200 miles to Iceland are just made up. Bears are good swimmers and they don’t get trapped on melting icebergs caused by global warming
