Angelina Jolie’s Adopted Son’s Biological Mother Speaks Out

angelinapax.jpg
Pham Thu Dung, the biological mother of Pax Thien Jolie, says she’s happy that her child has found a new life with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

The British newspaper News of the World tracked Dung down in the Vietnam neighborhood she calls home and talked to the 29-year-old about why she gave Pax up for adoption in 2003. Though Dung admits that she’s presently incapable of taking care of the three-year-old, she hopes that one day in the future he’ll call her “mother” again.

On giving Pax up for adoption:
“I am not his mother anymore because I abandoned him. I saw his face in the newspapers and I wanted to recognize him but I couldn’t. He was a stranger to me. I wanted to forget all about him but it hurts so much to see his face and hear about everything that is happening to him. It brings all the pain back to me. My dream is that one day he’ll visit me and call me mother. But it’s only a dream, I know it’s impossible.”

On Angelina adopting Pax:
“I want to see my son again and tell him I’m so sorry I had to give him away. I am very happy for him. I hope he has a good life now. He is better off with the movie star because I am not a good mother. I wasn’t able to take care of my baby.”

On her hopes for the future:
“I realize I am not capable of looking after him. I can’t even feed myself properly, let alone a baby as well. I only eat one meal a day. I just hope one day I will see him just to see how he is and looks. I want to know that he’s ok and that his new mother loves him.”

On her parents signing the adoption papers without her knowledge:
“There is nothing I can do. I can’t change what has happened.”

On Pax’s father leaving her during the pregnancy:
“I kept my baby because I thought my boyfriend would marry me. I wanted to keep the baby and live with him. I trusted him, but he left me.”

On taking two fixes of heroin a day:
“I really want to give up. I know drugs might kill me. If I can manage it, I will live a normal life. I really miss my grandmother and my family. I want to sort myself out and go home. But until I can give up drugs, I know I can never go home. I know my father is angry with me and I know the neighbors will laugh at my family. I don’t want my son to be ashamed of me when he grows up.”

Hours after meeting with News of the World, Dung was picked up by police and escorted to her family’s home. A friend who was with her at the time told the paper that her parents have been ordered to keep her there or she faces jail-time.

Sure, nevertheless, the amount of $$$ The News of The World must have paid her should be enough for her to not have to worry about money for a while since British and U.S. currency is worth gold in Vietnam…

Please be kind and shut up. It was not my choice to be born.
But I was born, abandoned and orphaned.
From the moment of birth, maternal love has denied and eluded me.
Neglected, unwanted and suffering became my lullaby and have colored my world,
the cold, harsh, unloving world of a three-year-old orphan… I am sorry that you did not choose me… I would have chosen you. Pitty!

Oh please! Angelina, along with all potential adopters should consider the ethics of helping natural families to stay together instead of taking just the child into their home and pretending to be martyrs. A REAL martyr wouldn’t benefit from the misery of someone’s poverty and inability to care for their child. The overwhelming majority of women do NOT want to give up their child, they are forced to out of circumstances, circumstance the wealthy create. No adopter is a hero in my book, they are instead opportunists. Until all parents are given the ability to support their child and still decide to relinquish their rights, adoption is nothing but a flesh trade.

Charlotte, i cant believe you would write something so ignorant about adoption, i feel if the parents give up there children then they shouldnt have any rights to them at all, its best if the child is adopted to a family who loves them and take care of them. If you dont wanna give up your children you should ensure that you have the means of taking care of them before you have them. and i saluate anyone who adopts and i plan on adopting someday too.

Give the woman a break….born into a life of poverty and uneducation……. she is making herself as a monster out to the media and people have to hit her while she’s down??? I’d like to see some of you handle poverty. Angelina Jolie is not the perfect human being, and the money SHE makes selling her kids on People magazine to the press is much dirtier than the adopted orphan’s mother answering questions with shocking honesty and no sense of self worth. Ruben, you should be ashamed of yourself.

The reality is none of us know the mother one way or another. It is still possible one would react with compassion or abhorrence if being introduced. Unless you are an enlightened soul, then you would respond with compassion regardless of the circumstances. Compassion for the mother, the child and Jolie-Pitt.

bytch … Did you purposely omit the fact that the money Jolie raises through those pictures goes to international children’s charities or are you just ignorant??? Jolie is one hollywood type who actually DOES good … not just talking about doing it like so many other holier-than-thou stars. Criticizing her for raising money for children is “dirtier” than anything else I’ve seen in years. Sick bytch.

Doing good would have been aiding the families of these children up for adoption so they didn’t have to be torn from their mother’s breast. Jolie is an opportunist to adopt a child and neglect to foster a relationship for HIS sake with his biological family.

Sensational Journalism at its worst.

How does reading this article making the reader a better person?

Congratulations RUE-ban, I truly regret clicking on this link. I have succumbed to the subliminal need to know, knowing full-well that I can not benefit from the time invested.
