Kelly is “thick” but who says that’s a bad thing! And I wish more of these stars would cover their lady bits up more often. So she has a nice dress on…so what? And you wonder why so many girls are anorexic or bulimic these days. It’s because we call normal sized women like Kelly Clarkson “fat” instead of “healthy” or “normal”. Many stars pack on pounds during breaks between touring or doing films. I’ve seen photos of Toby McGuire, Leonardo Dicaprio, and Matthew Macconaughy looking big on the beach and worst they have their shirts off. But hardly anyone criticizes them. It’s just expected that they will lose the weight once they hit the gym for their next movie. But if a woman gains a few pounds…it’s apparently the end of the world! Whatev.

Kelly is not fat,how do have the nerve Ruben,to say this.She absoulutely a normal average american girl,and get trough your head Ruben,a least she is not starving for beauty,she is already beautiful,and it dosen’t matter her size,she has 10 times the talent of all hollywood put together,and she is a great role model,to me and many other girls all over the world.

To the anonymous person who said that people criticized Britney for gaining weight but not Kelly…There is a difference between Britney and Kelly. Kelly knows what flatters her body type. It’s ok not to be a size 0-4 but there are several reasons why Britney is criticized more:

1) Kelly has vocal talent and Britney’s career is based primarily on her looks and being a stage entertainer. When you’ve made a multi-million dollar solely on being a sex symbol, people are going to naturally point out weight gain and whatever flaws that come with age, pregnancy, and taking a long break from her pop career.

2) As I said above, Kelly has enough sense to know that her body type probably looks better in a sun dress rather than a thong. Britney doesn’t have that sense. So yea, if Kelly were to wear really short mini dresses showing off her crotch, her breasts, cesarian scars, and whatever else that should be respectfully covered up then I’m sure more paparazzi would follow Kelly around and her weight would be the topic on magazine covers. The matter goes beyond being on the thick side for Britney. It’s a lack of common decency and fashion sense that makes her an easy target for criticism.

3) Attention. Kelly usually stays below the radar and lives the life of a normal person. This makes people sympathize with her more and come to her defense when someone like Ruben calls her out for simply enjoying a day on the beach with her friends. Britney is more likely to call attention to herself, especially her pre-rehab days hanging out with Paris and Lindsay. Those girls are attention whores and it makes the public realize that they are not down to earth and are less likely to sympathize when paparazzi and gossip columnists make fun of them. Because they are a joke after all.

Good point ‘Oink Oink’. That’s one of the things I love about Kelly, she’s not an attention whore like a lot of celebs her age. As for Britney I was about as huge as a fan could get,..now Ican’t stand what she’s become, I cannot relate to her at all anymore. She’s not the same person, it seems in my opinion.

Kelly CLarkson is so totally NOT fat. She’s normal and average (except for her awsome talent) and she doesn’t care what other people think or what she looks like. She simply laughs at it and moves on. At least she’s not some anorexic girl, like lindsay lohan or hilary duff, who listens to other people’s horrible comments (like Ruben’s). And as I said, she has an awsome talent which in the end matters the most. Rock on Kelly!!!! You go girl!!!!

It’s silly how some people here think they can gauge her health from a picture. You also can’t tell someone’s weight by looking at them because everyone carries their weight differently. I know girls who would be classed as overweight according to BMI who actually have a lower body fat percentage and wear a small dress size than some girls with BMI’s at the low end.

Kelly isn’t particularly slim, but she’s hardly obese either. Yeah her body fat percentage may be a bit on the high side, but it’s nothing she couldn’t work on. Anyway, it’s only her legs that are chunky and I’ve never heard of thick legs being a health risk. It’s belly fat you gotta watch out for and she looks fine around the middle.
