Earlier this morning on the ‘
Today Show’, the cover art for
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was revealed. The illustration was done by Jason Cockcroft, who drew the covers of the previous two
Harry Potter books. Although it is the
7th book in the series, it is actually the
2nd longest with 608 pages.
Actually, Mary GrandPré illustrated the book. She has illustrated the whole series in the United States.
and the book is 734 pages long. You need to get better sources!
if u look closely it looks like there are shadows in the bacground! spooky?!
lol
1. Jason does the UK covers. Mary De Pre has done all 7 US covers. and frankly I like them better. no wonder the UK needs an ‘adult’ edition. If I was over 30 I’d be embarassed to carry those cheesy kids covers.
2. you are supposed to see shadows. there’s also something to see on the back (it’s a wrap around drawing).
id just like to add bros that that is such a chill cover
its got nice flow.
The UK cover for the fourth one isn’t cheesy…lol. Please don’t let Harry or Hagrid die!
i agree the english version is cheesy
You think the cover is cheezy? How about the fact that it’s originally called the Philosophers Stone but the title was changed coz idiot america doesnt understand!!
Idiotic America? Ok lets remember who is the bigger world power and won both the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812.
Oh yes because intelligence really is reflected by Military brute force. The only way you can find an indicator of idiocy there is the fact that *someone* is the only country to self-obsessed to give up Super-power status.
And if you’re going to go on the appearances of countries to the rest of the world, we may have more stereotypes, but you are certainly the more disliked country. You are also considered the biggest threat to International Security by Europe. You claim to be the leaders of the free world, yet we pay no homage to you, we are our own entity.
I like the pencils on the US covers, but I think the UK covers are certainly more compelling and are nicer to look at.
Oh, the article said that it’s 608 pages because it is over here in Britain.
The only person I really dont want to die is Mrs. Weasley.
The cover looks great, i cant wait to get my hands on the book when it’s released. I hope that anyone close to Harry wont die bcuz he’s already lost Dumbledore.
i live in the UK and i think our “cheesy” “children’s” covers are far better than the US’s pathetic universal covers. I don’t see how you can sumise that American covers are better when Harry Potter is british. A great amount of time and effort comes into the britsih covers, choosing the right illustrator and design, rather than the US covers which stick to the same boring layout, design and illustrator
Well, I don’t know about that. While I’m not saying the UK covers are cheesy or childish- in fact I haven’t really looked at them, I think there’s something comforting about the States version of the covers. Just as we grew up reading the books, we’ve also grown up with the covers, and personally there’s nothing better than being a nerd and going to a midnight release party and picking up a book with a familiar picture but a different variation. It’s all a question of personal taste and what you’re used to, I think.
Ur all just jealous….the UK covers arent “cheesy”…they arent anything other than RIGHT….Harry is OURS, OURS, OURS…GET OVER IT….nah, nah, nah nahnah
