i agree that women with curves do indeed look better but high end couture fashion isn't designed with those women in mind, the clothes do tend to be cut for very very thin women, it is entirely possible to recreate the same sort of look for a larger person its all about personal interpretation. I Just think its time to stop blaming desingers and the media for eating disorders. Surely lack of education about healthy eating, excersice and focus on positive body image would count towards these problems too? it simply can't all be because the designers put clothes on super thin models

Every parent cannot be blamed for their daughters falling to peer pressure and societal expectations. I have met parents who place pressure on their daughters to lose weight and I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case. But parents can't control what their daughters see when they go to school or the magazines or even tv. Parents do have a huge influence of course but eventually their is a time when your daughter either has enough confidence or not. Most girls who become anorexic are usually in college away from home and eating disorders even affect women. So there must be more than parenting skills that are at fault. There is a way for the fashion industry to sell clothes on size 6-8 models. Size 0 is just ridiculous. Actually, I think most people would agree that women with curves look better in general and are probably more inclined to buy clothes they see on a Marilyn Monroe, Selma Hayek, Beyonce, Scarlett Johanassen body type than a Twiggy or Kate Moss type.

What people fail to realise on a daily basis is that size zero exsists for a reason, when showcasing a collection, clothes simply hang better on thin women who do not possess curves,Fashion is a multi billion dollar industry and the designers want to sell their clothes, its called business. However this doesnt mean that regular women cannot look good or find decent designer clothes simply have them altered to fit you. I know there is a lot of pressure to be super slim from the media but surely women of today have been raised to be the best they can be, not simply conforming to peer pressure and society. Lets face it, the fashion insdustry also is a haven for substance and alcohol abuse if your daughter looks up to these people i would strongly have a look at your parenting skills
