“Youth Without Youth” was inspired by Sofia Coppola’s low budget work. Francis said, “Fuck it! Let’s shoot a movie for $5 million!” So, he got Tim Roth to star in a flick about an old man who gets struck by lightning and suddenly gets younger and more intelligent. He begins a quest to understand the origin of language and the secrets of consciousness.
They say the flick is like an “arty Raiders of the Lost Ark.”
