According to the British, Britney Spears has blown through $21.5 million of her $32 million fortune over the last two years and with the looming expense of her divorce from Kevin Federline, lackluster sales of her perfume, and a 4-year drought of new music has the pop-star freaking out at the prospect of being broke.
The report goes on to say that this is also due to all the expenses incurred with buying toys for K-Fed but honestly, I think she’s fine. She’s made millions out of interest alone and owns real estate in several states that are worth way over $20 million. All of her albums sold a combined 600,000 units last year and she’ll easily make several millions more whenever she offers herself exclusively to a publication/tv show again + when her new music/tour comes to town in 2008. She’s not Michael Jackson, not yet! She does love spending money though but who doesn’t.

She made a little over 30 million for her perfume in 05 and last year forbes estimated her fortune at about 150 million.
she isnt broke, but she does need to be careful.
woah Ruben, finally not bashing Britney. Im proud haha.. but yeah about her being broke, i highly doubt so.. not to say she cant be EVER broke. but as of now she is fine
Well, we know she’s lost money over the last two years.
EVIDENCE 1: She’s had little incoming funds. (compared to her past)
EVIDENCE 2: Her lawyers have alleged that Kevin is behind Britney losing thousands of dollars.
EVIDENCE 3: Britney has apparently been diagnosed with bulimia and post-partum depression. These are disorders characterized by a heightened level of anxiety. The rumor is that Britney feels anxiety towards money. We have evidence that Britney feels anxiety and we know that anxious people often have many reasons for feeling anxious.
Secondly, you can’t predict what someone does or does not feel anxiety about. However, money is a common and top contributor to anxiety in America. If she has lost so much money in such a short time, and sees that her albums are consistently selling less and less, and that her popularity is down…..then, yes, there is a chance, no matter how much money she has left, that these matters have combined to give Britney some anxiety in regards to money. Particularly, since Britney looks at this money having to stretch through her lifetime since she is unable to get a normal job like you and me. If her popularity goes down, then it doesn’t matter what future projects await, they will pay less, and this will only serve as a confirmation that she is a “has been.” Another source of anxiety for a celeb. Britney’s been poor, been a nobody: she knows what that’s like, and for all we know, she could have an anxiety about going back to that. Especially since she was not raised to live her life out of the spot light.
Third, Britney wouldn’t be the first celeb to go broke. I know it seems impossible for those of us mere mortals to understand…but, just because they are celebs it doesn’t mean that they have any knowledge of how to manage their money. And Britney lacks impulse control and maturity….two necessary traits for money management.
Could be just a rumor, but we’ve heard this one for a couple years now. Remember how often Britney rumors are proved true. And this rumor, unlike other rumors, is one that if not already true, could end up becoming true in the future, if Britney does not wizen up.
As of 2007 britney is the 12 richest woman in entertainment. Poor british tabs. First it was suicide, then she’s in a mental hospital and now she’s broke. The british suck.

Wow Kelly i can tell you read too much of the tabloids. Try and not believe everything you read, lol.
Where do they come up with these insane estimates of her fortune? Britney is worth far more than $32 million. She owns a private jet that is worth in the range of $30 million alone. Her real estate is worth in the range of $25 million. Her vehicles are worth another few million. She likely also has a great deal likely in the range of $50 million in cash making an absurd amount of interest year after year. She also owns the rights to her empire which includes her music, DVD’s, dolls, clothes, accessories, perfume, etc. - Britney’s assets and cash alone are likely $100-$150 million. If she were to sell all the rights to her brand she could easily be worth upwards of $1 billion. Any reports of her going broke are absolutely ridiculous.
The tabloids also like to act as if Michael Jackson is going to go broke. He may file bankruptcy because he is poor in terms of cash and to free himself of the many lawsuits, but like Britney and any major public figure they have a brand and can sell the rights to that brand. Michael Jackson, unfortunately, will never go broke.
Ted, I don’t need tabloids. I get that information right here for free, just like you : )
Oops, my bad, pop princesses don’t feel pain, they are made out of plastic. I am sorry that Britney having negative emotions does not fit your stereotype for what a pop-princes should be, but that’s your break with reality, not mine.
Why is everyone so convinced that Britney feeling anxiety is a bad thing? A certain level of anxiety is healthy and normal. It’s a survival instinct. If Britney is expressing her anxiety, that’s a good thing too, because guess what, she’s in contact (and hopefully will stay in contact) with people who can help her deal with that.
Britney is a mother; she should feel some anxiety. If she doesn’t then there really is something wrong with her. The difference is, what I have suggested, an anxiety disorder, is common and easily treatable, but the flat, emotionless state that Brit’s fans seem to advocate as the ideal state for Britney, is seen more often in schizophrenics, sociopaths, and fembots. If I am right, she needs relaxation techniques, if you are right, she may have something that is untreatable and/or incurable….or else she isn’t human at all.
She’s not Michael Jackson? Damn right, she’s not. He owns his own songs from 1976 - present (publishing rights & the masters), he owns the Sly Stone music publishing catalogue. He is co-owner (i.e. = P) of Sony/ATV Music Publishing, LLC - which is worth well over $1.5 BILLION DOLLARS.
Sure he’s got his financial problems - but his assests outweigh his debts (around by $200 million and going down) by far. You won’t be seeing him in the street with a sing reading “Will Moonwalk For Food”, anytime soon….

I just saw on VH1 that she blew 61 million dollars. Maybe she needs to loose everything in order to get herself together. People need to stop making excuses for her and leave her alone.
