Angelina Jolie’s New Son’s Adoption Papers and Birthday

We have now learned that Pax Thien Jolie (formerly Pham Quang Sang) is 3 years and 4 months old according to his passport. I thought he was a little bit older. As reported earlier, the adoption papers shown above were signed by Jolie and sealed by the Vietnamese government. My only thought is that since Angelina is the sole parent of Pax (since unmarried couples are not allowed to adopt the child together), Brad’s legal involvement with the child will probably be taken care of by lawyers in the United States.

Congratulations to Jolie on the new member of her family. It is great that another child will not have to grow up in an orphanage. I sincerely hope that more people will adopt both here at home and abroad.

I congratulate the family but was surprised these documents were made public. Adoption is a a legal and private matter - this seems a great invasion of privacy for the child especially.

I have adopted three children from other countries and think Angelina Jolie has the right to choose what info she makes public about her child.

There are countless children available for adoption and in foster care in the United States. Why aren’t more people (both stars and “common folk”) interested in adopting these children, choosing instead to go abroad to “rescue” children from orphanages?

I know that Angelina Jole is very “moved” by the poverty and suffering of children in third world countries but maybe she should look in her own backyard,(USA). There are many children here that could benefit from an adoption. There are areas in this country that are “third world”. New Orleans is a good example. I also have to wonder why her adoptions are so public. She certainly can afford to pay someone to pick up her newly adopted child so that she can keep her private life private if that is what she really wants……….

There is a rumour going around that Walmart is trying to import ophan children for her to adopt, that way she can just go to the local Walmart and pick up an orphan child. Walmart should be able to organise the publicity for her. Like a package deal. How low will she stoop to next.

As an adoptee, I have my own opinions in regards to the whole Angelina mass adoption. Whether she did it for the attention or out of the kindness of her heart, does it truly matter when her fortune is vast enough to feed a tiny country? I mean, having a child grow up in an environment where enrichment is more then impossible is, I think, a dream come true for most parents, at least I only wish that I will be able to provide a fraction of that to my kids. My point being, she is adopting a child and saving a life. What more is there to ask? Whether from overseas or not, young or old, a few or dozens, lives are being saved, and people really are missing that point. Now, I understand that some kids end up in unfortunate cirumstances where, say, the child got left on a subway or the family simply couldn’t financially support the third born at the time so gave him up and had more kids a few years later when they could afford it. I’m also not saying that money is everything, but it helps with raising children. This I know coming from a lower income, working class family that lessons, education, etc could have been much more fulfilling had my parents had more money. Either way, my family loves me and I love my family. That is the only thing that matters here and is crucial to having adoptees enjoy their life sans biological parents and not resent any part of the adoption. So, the real question is, will they love their adopted children? We all know that it’s the only true thing that matters in this world.
