Britney Cuts Visit to AA Meeting ShortSplash News reported that on March 10th Britney Spears seemed to be having trouble conforming to her rehab discipline and thumbed her nose at officials as she cut an AA meeting before half time to go and sat in a car and smoked cigarettes. Before the meeting in Malibu had reached its first break Britney and a helper along with four bodyguards are seen leaving the premises to go and sit out of sight in a nearby waiting SUV to smoke cigarettes and put her feet up. A number of raised conversations were heard between Britneys camp and some officials from the meeting after the first half but she stayed in the SUV surrounded by her security before the meeting which also had Matthew Perry and Michael Bolton in attendance proceeded for another hour. After the meeting had finished the rest of Britney’s group returned to the car were Britney quickly appeared and seemed to rush them up before the car departed back to the promises rehab centre. Did I call this last week or what?
Confirmation about Bulimia
A Los Angeles reporter for UK’s Daily Express has filed a story that claims that Britney Spears told doctors at Promises that she is in fact bulimic and has been this way since she was 16 years old. The article claims that Britney tearfully told rehab staff – already treating her for drug and alcohol abuse – that she “pigs out” on junk food like burgers, sweets, biscuits and ice cream then makes herself vomit to avoid putting on weight. (Remember the trips to the burger joints and McDonalds drive-thrus in the past)
On top of her alcohol and alleged cocaine use, the bulimia turned her into a “human wreck”, according to the source, who added: “When she came here she was shaking and baking. Her whole body was wracked by spasms and she was hot one minute, then freezing cold the next.
“Her first week in detox was real hell. She was in a total mess but slowly she’s pulling through.”
The Jason Alexander and Isaac Cohen Damage
Britney Spears has had her former sex life splashed onto the pages of British tabloids by two of her exes in recent months. Both Jason Alexander and Isaac Cohen divulged some pretty detailed ‘kiss and tell’ confessions and according to a report from Life & Style Weekly, that hurt Britney. And who can blame her? Both dished in detail what they all did behind closed doors.
Among other things Jason Alexander claimed Britney has bi-sexual tendencies. An earlier report from Tina Sims cited a report from the UK where he claimed he once had a drug-fueled threesome with Spears and a female dancer, said that in their short relationship he had trouble keeping up with her drug use. “It was like winning the sex lotto. Britney and this girl were having some lesbian fun, so I did what every other straight guy would do - I dropped my pants and hopped right into the middle of it and enjoyed every second. It was definitely a New Year’s Day to remember.”
Isaac also let loose. He told ‘News of the World’ that Britney loves sex and is incredibly adventurous. But he added that the first time she invited him to her home he saw her wedding dress hung on the wall in a glass box. “As we made love that night it was like Kevin was in bed beside us,” he claimed.
He also claimed that Britney was worried about her weight and her body. According to the report she would say, ‘Am I fat? Am I fat?’ then spend hours dancing around the house trying to burn off calories.
Both of the guys’ words cut Britney dearly, L&S reports.
It’s scary when you read what you think are plain fabrications from the tabloids, but when you have people she’s actually been with personally confirming the claims a lot of people once thought were ridiculous, you kind of start wondering what’s up.

I refuse to believe this until Britney confirms it herself. How do they actually know this is true, The Promises facility won’t be allowed to divulge this information, and as a business that is used to dealing with celebrities, they probably have procedures that stop their staff running off and selling stories. The media loved Britney’s whole breakdown, it was dramatic and new, now it’s old, Britney’s at promises keeping to herself and out of the public eye. But the media has seen this is still a great story they have to sensationalise it, like stating she ran around screaming she’s the antichrist with 666 on her head. Yes Britney has her problems we all know that, but only those close to Britney truly know what is going on with her, and I even doubt they know everything.
It makes me sick that the media can’t leave her alone for just 30 days! But until another celebrity does something ‘newsworthy’ she is still going to be hounded. What a sad world we live in!
Since when did Britney not want the press to leave her alone? Seriously, she can moan and complain all she wants, but there is a reason why we never hear what Cher, or Donny Osmond, or David Letterman, or Paul Mccartney order on the web, and there is a reason why the world is allowed the knowledge that Brtney has a credit card and isn’t afraid to use it. I don’t understand why people feel so sorry for her. She brought this on to herself. She could have taken a hundred different paths with her life, but she chose the hard route because she’s a naturally selfish person who’s out for whatever she feels like doing because that is what she is used to. If that includes destroying other people’s lives in the process, she will. She’s rich, she has everything anybody could ever dream of, she’s just not very smart. Everyone has problems, she’s not the only one, unfortunately, her lack of awareness and care about life in general has led her to where she is today. Wow, you really think guys like Isaac Cohen and her ex are reliable sources and character references? They made a buck off her, they are users. Kevin and Britney’s relationship at this point seems to have been legitimate. After the break-up she refused to talk about him disparagingly and he has been supportive of her. This to despite the fact that the tabloids have tried to make it a bitter battle to no success. She refused to host an award show that she would have undoubtedly been paid well to do, as it was against her character to mock the man she loved enough to marry and have her children. No real man would kiss and tell for a buck.
So what if she has bi tendancies or made numerous mistakes in the past? She is a human being. I have been to AA and I know for a fact that it is a difficult road she has ahead. Who would want to go to a meeting to deal with their issues and not be given the opportunity to talk about real issues? She has no chance of anonymity, while this is due to her own choices to become famous it is nonetheless just as hard for her to pick up the pieces of her life as anyone else. Many other people have done this and continue doing this everyday. She obviously loves her children tremendously to brave all this in order to keep them in her life.
It seems you all want her to fail, rather than succeed, which is really the sad part of this whole story. Everyone makes mistakes and while many do not make them to this degree nonetheless would not want them talked about so callously and rudely.
She has two little boys that will one day grow up and look back on all this, what message are you giving them? Please let her have the opportunity to save herself by not condeming her before she succeeds or fails. It is always a possibility that someone with the extensive issues she is facing will fail, but what good does it do anyone to predict this? Give her and everyone in her position of being so publicly scrutinized a break!!

If what alot of different reports are saying are true, not just Rubens , then it sounds like Britney is not taking rehab seriously. She’s just putting in her time waiting to get out. She’ll probably be back to partying at clubs before we know it. That will be after she can make the best deal with television to sell her story. Unlike Ruben, I do feel sorry for Britney that she make the wrong choices in her life.
I just feel like I have to mention the fact that she has never been photographed under the influence of drugs and alcohol, what is she doing in AA? It does not make sense. Just because she goes into a nightclub and drinks alcohol does not make her an alcoholic! or a have a drug problem.
We are all wondering if these stories are true but why are we not wondering why the basis of the story is not true.
^^ Exactly. She probably is going to AA meetings because she felt like she was depending on alcohol to relieve her depression or something. It’s a secondary condition and that DOES NOT MEAN she’s a hardcore alcoholic. She can still be a SOCIAL drinker after she gets out of rehab because its not her PRIMARY condition……PPD may be.
The bottomline is that no one really knows what’s going on with her. Occasional drinking and drug use is common amongst many many people, but that doesn’t mean they are all addicts.
AA can be a proactive attempt to stop something before it gets worse.
Maybe Britney is selfish…maybe she has been less than smart…so what? My little sister is selfish but that does not make her a bad person! We seem to ignore the fact that the very “exclusive” photos we so desperately want to see are none other than the very papparazzi pics Britney tries to hard to avoid. You make it sound so easy. Dealing with depression, alcohol and drug use issues is never easy. Its a difficult process, she will struggle. What she needs right now is love, support, and a little understanding. She doesn’t need every one of her mistakes and stumbles magnified for the public’s enjoyment. She will continue to fall and keep getting up, its going to be a long process but she will learn this way.
As far as the bulemia rumors? This story is coming from Star Magazine, not to mention its illegal for her doctors to be releasing this type of information so I doubt its validity. These rumors would have been around all along just like there have been rumors of her using blow have been circulating for several years.

But, I must disagree with those of you who claim that I owe everything to Britney and how I made a name for myself thanks to Britney. That’s a pretty ridiculous statement. On the contrary, it was Britney fans like myself who made Britney Spears who she is, not the other way around.

I agree, I think that the comments being made as an attack on you are ridiculous. By the same token I think the comments that are made by those on this site saying Britney should be dead, have her kids taken away, etc… are equally ridiculous. Who are we to be the moral judge of the universe. Those who object to her lifestyle merely have to stop buying her albums.
I am not a huge fan of Britney, but I do empathisize with her. Yes, she has been selfish. Addiction is a horrible and selfish disease. Her selfishness has hurt NO ONE more than it is hurting herself right now. She is fighting for her life and to sit here and beat her up over and over again over mistakes that she has made is ridiculous. If addiction was such a simple disease to cure that merely making better choices would have prevented it, well than the crime rate in America would be nearly non-existent and there would be very few in Foster Care. It isn’t that easy. Yes, it would have been ideal for her to just say No the first time. But guess what? She didn’t. Now she has to deal with the consequences of those choices. This is why I say give her a break!!!! It is not pity that I feel for her, rather humanity.

Her attitude towards AA is normal. It took years for her to develop this behavior and it will took probably the same amount of time to modify this. Don’t expect that everything will be honky-dory after a few weeks in Rehab. I love her music. But! For the sake of her kids I do wish that she will get better. At this point, Kevin should be the primary guardian and Britney having visitation rights.

I’m really upset that one of my favorites back in the day is now so messed up that I’ll never even think of buying another CD of hers or watch another video without thinking what a waste of space she is. She is in rehab now, but I think she’s there for her IMAGE and as a way to stand up against kevin in court…it was her only chance. She has cried on national TV to leave her alone, yet I believe she wants the attention. she has marketed herself to be followed by the paps. and I believe when she gets out of rehab she’ll sell her story to the higher bidder…again for the publicity and for her IMAGE of being the innocent victim of the system, being famous and the paps. These are her choices. Being famous and being responsible can go hand-in-hand. But in britney’s case she has exploited herself. She has never been true to who she really was and the tween audience that made her who she is today needed their parents approval. It’s all very simple marketing. Because she was never any of those things, her house of cards has fallen. I don’t think she’ll be back. maybe a tabloid regular, but her career has seen its peek. Money doesn’t mean class…in the south we’d call her white trash w/ money!!!
You know, I’ve read about bulimia, but it’s been awhile. I just looked it up on Wikipedia. Eating disorders have the highest mortality rates of all mental illnesses, not to mention that they are some of the toughest disorders to treat. And it’s not like she just throws up after every meal, no, these disorders stem from very deep psychological problems. Food addiction is one of the hardest addictions to fight, an alcoholic can stay away from a bar, but people with unhealthy attitudes towards food have to eat several times a day.
People accuse me of hating Britney, when the truth is that I hate what she stands for. Here is a girl who’s fame and fortune, and self worth have been wrapped up in her body image. Is it really surprising now to hear that she has had an eating disorder since she was 16?
She is in counseling now, and that’s great, but it does take more than a few weeks of counseling to fight bulemia. Those of you pinning your hopes on a comeback should know this: bulleemia can not only damage the vocal chords, but it can also leave a person vulnerable to throat cancer. Bullemia is a very dangerous disease, because the habits that people use to binge and purge are extremly disruptive to the human body. I think people need to understand the gravity of the situation Britney may be in.
It’s sad to see her ex-boyfriends profit off her sex life, but in the end that’s life. Maybe if she had spent more time in high-school and less time being groomed for star-dom, she might have learned what every other teenage girl learns: lots of guys kiss and tell. And if you sleep with lots of guys sooner or later, you are going to hear stories about yourself.
Britney’s career has been centered on exploiting her sexuality. The idea of free-love is a very beautiful thing, but the reality is that casual sex doesn’t exist without consequences.

I agree with Kelly, when your image its everything, after you have tow kids, your body its not from a 16 years old any more. That means that you don’t have a image anymore. She never had the best voice o that much talent. Yes, she knew how to move her butt and the music is good to dance. But its not that good. She is not that talent. She did playback at her concerts… not even y Rock in Rio she sang!!! (big festival, one of the biggest in the word! and she playback!)
Britney has everything to get better, but most of the people that are dealing with depression have everything. She dose not have to work ever in her life, and still she is able to shop in a day what im only able to shop in a month! What would you do if you were 25 and had money to live the rest of your life? Go out all nights and have fun. But the problem here is that she has kids. But its not that she has to do something with her life… she justs hangs in there. She had work since she was 16, her family lives the way they live because of her, she puts the food on the table, not her dad or her mom. She is the one that used to work. And thats not normal, she should be at school at that time.
So when you start blaming and trying to find the reason Britney is feeling like this, check out her pass and you are going to see… its not normal that a kid has to work, they should be at school with other kids and have a normal life. Its not normal that when your 20 you give a buy expensive hoses for your family!

Its really odd to get someone like Cristina Aguilera, she was lucky to see that if she didn’t take a break in her career when she was at the top, she was going to fall really hard. Theres an Mtv diary where Cristina tells Britney to take a break and i think that was her being really honest. After that Cristina got big with her CD, and Britney got more famous because Madonna kiss her.

And the fac that they treat her different is why a think she is not going to get better. She needs to find Britney Speares, but not the one thats famous the one before the MMC! I don’t know about you, but I chose my own profession. I went to school for one thing and decided to do something else. She never had those choices. They were made for her by her parents and managers.
Can you imagine a world where everyone knows your name and no one can be trusted because it is more likely than not that they will sell you out for a few thousand dollars and a mention on ET? Where your medical records are public knowledge and the anonymity of AA is regularly breached? Where everyone has an opinion and doesn’t even know you personally? Being judged without a trial or a jury?
I wouldn’t switch places with her for all the money in the world.

The problem with Britney is that she has the brains, morals, and talent of a truckstop hooker — she just happens to have a lot of money. Anybody with a brain could see that she would eventually self-destruct. The shame of it is that she has two young children that need a mother. She has been spoiled and sheltered for so long that she knows no different than to expect to pay her way out of everything she gets her smaller- than a pea-brain self into. I am not sure that Kevin is really any better of a role model than she is. So honestly….Should either of them get custody? If she really cares about her children she would stop dating these loser guys who are so far beneath her that they’re licking her shoes and maybe she should stay out of the night clubs and out of the public eye at least for a few months so that we can forget about Britney for awhile. mikejm, I have no beef with Britney. I think you are reading and interpreting my comments the way you want them to based on whatever big controversies I have been involved with in the past. When I ran World of Britney.com, my concern was never my own, but Britney’s fans.
I could care less if I would have gotten to meet her, already met her many times, but those two fans flew in from Iowa on their own money and it does NOT MATTER what Britney’s current issues were, you’re way too nice….business is business, and a promise was made, there is absolutely no compassion for recklessness.
I don’t poke fun at Britney to get hits, that’s really stupid, I’m just a realist. And in regards to the lives she has messed up, I really don’t think you get it. Everyone is quick to jump on Kevin Federline, Jason Alexander, Justin Timberlake and Shar Jackson, but if you really think about it, the problems derived from these four people is due to what Britney initiated for her own selfish reasons. It wasn’t Jason Alexander’s idea to marry her and later get his 15 minutes, it wasn’t Justin’s choice to see the love of his life cheat on him, it wasn’t K-Fed who courted Britney and neither was it K-Fed who proposed to her, and, it wasn’t Shar Jackson’s choice to be put in the spotlight the way she did because of Britney. All these people had their public lives exposed because of how Britney used them…..and it goes both ways, but, you always have to go all the way back to the source, and the source was never as innocent as you thought she was. Now, if that to you is me attacking Britney and talking shit about her, then that is your prerogative, I’m just being real, and to me, that is my truth. Thanks.

That’s funny - because it could be said that the truly selfish people are all those benefiting monetarily from her when she was successful. Monsters are created. They don’t just materialize. Managers, parents, bloggers, record companies. All of them made hay while they sum was shining. No complaints about her false image when she was raking in the dough and I am sure the warnign signs were there. Where were her friends and family then?
Britney is a creation of mass media, bad parenting and people’s desire for money, but she was and is a human being. She very well may have serious mental issues. For some reason no one seems to realize that this may be beyond her control. If she is narcissistic, bipolar, depressed or bulemic these are problems that reach further than whether or not she is selfish. Take a look at most child stars. Unless they have strong parental figures they are screwed.
