James Cameron Is Next In Line to Topple Christianity

Time Magazine
says “Brace yourself”. James Cameron, the man who brought you ‘The Titanic’ is back with another blockbuster. This time, the ship he’s sinking is Christianity. In a new documentary, Producer Cameron and his director, Simcha Jacobovici, make the starting claim that Jesus wasn’t resurrected –the cornerstone of Christian faith– and that his burial cave was discovered near Jerusalem. And, get this, Jesus sired a son with Mary Magdelene.

No, it’s not a re-make of “The Da Vinci Code”. It’s supposed to be true.
Let’s go back 27 years, when Israeli construction workers were gouging out the foundations for a new building in the industrial park in the Talpiyot, a Jerusalem suburb. of Jerusalem. The earth gave way, revealing a 2,000 year old cave with 10 stone caskets. Archologists were summoned, and the stone caskets carted away for examination. It took 20 years for experts to decipher the names on the ten tombs. They were: Jesua, son of Joseph, Mary, Mary, Mathew, Jofa and Judah, son of Jesua.

Israel’s prominent archeologist Professor Amos Kloner didn’t associate the crypt with the New Testament Jesus. His father, after all, was a humble carpenter who couldn’t afford a luxury crypt for his family. And all were common Jewish names.

There was also this little inconvenience that a few miles away, in the old city of Jerusalem, Christians for centuries had been worshipping the empty tomb of Christ at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Christ’s resurrection, after all, is the main foundation of the faith, proof that a boy born to a carpenter’s wife in a manger is the Son of God.

But film-makers Cameron and Jacobovici claim to have amassed evidence through DNA tests, archeological evidence and Biblical studies, that the 10 coffins belong to Jesus and his family.

Ever the showman, (Why does this remind me of the impresario in another movie,”King Kong”, whose hubris blinds him to the dangers of an angry and very large ape?) Cameron is holding a New York press conference on Monday at which he will reveal three coffins, supposedly those of Jesus of Nazareth, his mother Mary and Mary Magdalene. News about the film, which will be shown soon on Discovery Channel, Britain’s Channel 4, Canada’s Vision, and Israel’s Channel 8, has been a hot blog topic in the Middle East. Here in the Holy Land, Biblical Archeology is a dangerous profession. This 90-minute documentary is bound to outrage Christians and stir up a titanic debate between believers and skeptics. Stay tuned.

James Cameron is a complete jackass. Christianity is way too strong to be taken down by two useless movies such as The Da Vinci Code or this new movie that James Cameron is making.

So basically he believes this is the tomb of Jesus because they were able to do DNA testing and matched the bodies (i.e. they were related).

And it isn’t in the realm of possibility that these popular names could belong to others? Or that for whatever reason, someone decided to put those names on the tomb?

Is this guy for real????

Now I have heard just about everything…..

So, let’s see…a Galilean carpenter is going to be buried in Jerusalem? Why, if all he did was live and die in the usual way?

Also, how would they tell “Jesus” as a name from “Joses” who was one of his brothers, since Hebrew has no vowels? They add breathing marks now, but they didn’t on the tombs back then.

The DNA could only tell if the several caskets held related people - they can’t tell if they are related to THE Jesus, since they don’t have an independent sample of that to compare to.

Bar-Ilan University Professor Amos Kloner, a Jerusalem archeologist who officially oversaw the work at the tomb in 1980 and has published detailed findings on its contents, dismissed the claims.

“It makes a great story for a TV film,” he told The Jerusalem Post Saturday night.

“But it’s impossible. It’s nonsense,” he said

Makes more sense than the original story, doesn’t it?
Looking forward to this one. Plus I always get a laugh out of the fundies’ outrage!

It would seem to me that this is neither a “blow” nor a Christianity “knock out”. This documentary, as most documentaries on Discovery, will in the end prove nothing. First 1.5 hours will be on the history of Jesus with the last thirty minutes showing what they have discovered and how it could be the body and family of Jesus. The last 90 seconds will be an announcer or even Cameron himself stating “does this disprove Jesus, no. But it is another question in the history that is Christ.” This is a publicity campaign that the media will wrap there arms around as it will sell. It will be one of the most watched events on Discovery. It will allow Discovery to charge high advertising rates for the Documentary. Wouldn’t surprise me if they aired it opposite of Desperate Housewives. So let’s keep it in perspective and not get caught up in the hype.

I’d like to see the Discovery Channel do a special on how you can do a DNA comparison without a DNA sample to run as a comparison. If this were a “Forensic Files” or “Cold Case” episode, it would never get aired.

Convenient that the Rockefeller museum helped sponsor the research. Cameron is supposedly a Freemason, so this would simply be inline with what the Freemasons and their illuminist allies seek to accomplish.

1) Destroy Christianity
2) Bring forth an Anti-Christ figure
3) Usher in a New World Order

Right and Left means nothing. It’s Freedom vs. Oppression.

Never really believed it until I watched “Loose Change” and Aaron Russo’s “Freedom to Fascism”. See for yourselves on Google or YouTube.
